On our last episode with Nikko, we established that the trumpets that appear in the book of Revelation are actually a parable or figurative language for people and the sound of these trumpets is actually a testimony. But why is the seventh and last one different and important? And are we hearing it today? We also took a couple of side trips on this episode - Are the book of Revelation, Mt 24 and Gn 1 supposed to fit together? He’s joining us today and Sam has zero chill because since their radio days together, Nikko has gotten engaged, married and become a parent all during the pandemic (while Sam has had none of the above happen to her). What better way to reunite than over a conversation about the book of Revelation, second coming and parables? 😂 Today, it’s the parable of the trumpet. Trumpets are not new to the Bible - remember the wall of Jericho? Isaiah 58:1 says to raise your voice like a trumpet and Paul mentions a last trumpet in 1Cor 15:51-54 that will change us 'in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye'. In Rv 8, seven angels are given seven trumpets and each trumpet sets off some pretty wild events. Are these things connected and what is the trumpet referring to in Revelation? I don’t know guys, but this one hit all the right notes for us 😉

The seal is one of them parables that are understood in different ways and we're here for it! And it's an important one because there is a specific number of people - 144,000 - that the book of Revelation says is sealed. We can say that this is a literal number because there is a great multitude that follows (this all goes down in Rv 7, fyi) and without it being an exact number, we wouldn't know where the count for the great multitude begins. Alright Door-itos, we're legit back on the Road to Revelation! Ever notice how mountains are poppin' in the Bible? The Garden of Eden is called the holy mount of God (Ez 28:13-14), Noah's ark came to rest on Mt. Ararat, Abraham bound his son Isaac in Mt. Moriah, the Ten Commandments were given to Moses in Mt. Sinai, Jesus was transfigured on a mountain. These may be physical mountains but what is its spiritual meaning when used in prophecy? In Mt 24 where Jesus gives instructions for the second coming, he said to flee to the mountains when we see the abomination standing in the holy place. And sure enough, we see Mt. Zion in Rv 14 and Heb 12:22-23 says that Mt. Zion is a church. Interestiiiiiiiing. Shouts to our favorite dwedgie RikiFlo for joining us on this convo and the durian for its pungent cameo which singed off all of Sam's nose hairs on this recording.

We are so tickled that our last episode for 2021 is number 143 ❤️ We're talking about the parables of flesh and blood in the Bible which we are to eat and who better to have this convo with than a restaurateur? 😄 Our friend Ryan Cruz is the man behind Ramen Yushoken, Mendokoro Ramenba, Kazunori and the soon-to-open Ramen Marudori. And while we think his success is amazing, we are even bigger fans of how he treats his employees as shown by his restaurants' lowest turnover rate in the F&B industry (the whole industry!). So let's talk about the Passover meal in the Bible - the flesh and blood of the Lamb. The Israelites had to eat an actual lamb to pass over from death to life but this was a foreshadowing for Jesus who was the Lamb of God. In Rv 21:11, there are those who overcame with the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. Food for thought and lots to marinate on for the rest of year! 😉

The beast in Revelation is possibly one of the scariest and most infamous imageries we find in the book. But actuallyyy, there are many other animals that appear throughout the Bible. The people of God are called sheep, Jesus is called the Lamb, what is sacred is not to be given to dogs and pearls are not to be given to pigs, there is a serpent in the Garden of Eden. What do these animals symbolize? Of course, the beast in Revelation is not your average farm animal - it has 7 heads, 10 horns and a tail. Could each part be pertaining to something? How amoosing! 🐮
