On Part 1, we talked about the Bible being the history book of God and His chosen people + how its contents can be categorized into history, moral teaching, prophecy and fulfillment. Today, it's about how the Bible is a book of covenant. Did you even know that 'testament' is synonymous to 'covenant' which is synonymous to 'promise'? Me neither. 🤯 This is Sam. Hi! Anyway, covenants are a BIG DEAL to God. It's basically how He is in relationship with us and ours right now is the new covenant that is found in the Bible. And as is almost always the case, our main topic leads us to other questions like, How do we defend sola scriptura? Where in the Bible does it say that? How does the way the Bible was compiled affect our understanding today? Perhaps our most heated discussion to date. Well. Maybe just Bernz. Duh, that's why his name is Bernz 🔥 (We love you, Bernz! 😂)
Sam and Tina have come a long way from wondering if the Bible was just a random compilation of puzzling and sleep-inducing books to seeing why the Christian scripture is divinely inspired. Perhaps one of the most convincing arguments for why we can trust that the Bible comes from God is that there are prophecies that fulfill in this book. But the Bible contains so much more than that and we're gonna break it-break it-break it down today by going through its content classification and history with a little side trip to covenants and Genesis where things get interesting. Good morning, class! ☀️

You may have already heard on an amaaaazing podcast (ahem) that the word ‘religion’ means to reconnect with God or be in relationship with Him. On this episode, we take things further by discussing the purpose of religion, why we need it, all that good stuff. At least that was the plan. But then the bit about God having to leave man (Gn 6:3) and Satan ruling the world for now (1 Jn 5:19) came up which then led to talk about spiritual warfare, how Adam and Eve were not supposed to die, the suffering we see in the world, the salvation plan, heaven coming down, wow how'd we get here guys? It all felt like a big detour at the time but actually...aren't those all the reasons why we even have religion in the first place?! So maybe the detour was in the shape of a full circle. Yay us! 😂
Let's start from the very beginning, a very good place to start. Before we start getting to know God and discerning His word, perhaps we should first identify who we are and what makes us human. Bust out your Bibles because on this first "real" topic, we go through the Scripture to find out what our composition is, what makes us different from animals and what that difference means. Bonus: Does God have emotions? Is there a difference between body, soul and spirit? What K-drama are you watching now? Just kidding. Not really.
Much has been said about the book and it is interpreted in many different ways but one thing's for sure - it. is. fascinating. It's a bit of a hodgepodge right now and we don't mean to confuse but we at least had to try and get on the same page about how we are going to treat this book moving forward. Is it entirely prophecy or does it have different sections and genres? Is it to be taken literally or figuratively? Is it a book that encourages the early Christians or a prophecy for us today? On this episode, we attempt to answer these questions and receive a revelation of our own (Hi, Tina 💛).

🚨New series alert!🚨 On August 28, 2021, we were all invited to the Grand Bible Webinar of New Heaven New Earth Shincheonji Church of Jesus where Chairman Lee proclaimed to have received a revelation about the book of Revelation. He invited all the attendees to listen to his testimony and verify everything according to the Scripture. How fascinating, mind-boggling, puzzling...eyebrow-raise-inducing? It's just that there seem to be so many people who claim this and they can't all possibly be speaking the truth. So what are we supposed to make of them and how do we know they're legit? We're calling this series Road To Revelation and in the episodes to come, we're going to discern this testimony together and it will take us from the building blocks of our faith all the way to the book of Revelation. Wherever we end up, we foresee many compelling conversations ahead! In the meantime, on today's episode we talk about our thoughts on the webinar, attempt to answer the aforementioned questions and get excited about geeking out together every recording day 😂❤️
Our Catholic listener Cathy prays with her kids every night and her born-again Christian husband thinks they should skip the Angel of God prayer. Eek, tension. She just went to sleep when this came up but she'd like to better explain this stuff to her husband next time. So we ask - who are the angels and what do they do exactly? Should we be praying to them or to anyone other than God for that matter?

Singer-songwriter Keiko Necesario is that Christian artist who boldly quotes Bible verses to answer press questions. She swings by the pod today to profess her love for God's word, share how He has been working in her life and to also ask the question, "If God wants the best for us, why does as He ask us to let go of things of the world?" Her album Ready, Let Go is her second under Warner Music Philippines.

Our listener Gabby recently started studying the Bible but admits to lacking in knowledge when it comes to the church life and she wants to know more about tithes and offerings. Why do we practice this and how can we know that our tithes and offerings actually go where they're supposed to go instead of people's pockets? How do the churches on this podcast handle the tithes that come in? Show me the money!!! Just kidding, she didn't say that.
Our born-again Christian listener Gio and his Catholic girlfriend have been together for 7 years. They were starting to talk about marriage but decided to take a break because despite their shared love for God, they find that their faith practices are too different to reconcile for a life-long commitment. The gang weighs in on the situation and also ponders on one of Gio's questions: Isn't Jesus enough?
