- Sudan- Khartoum, The war in Sudan that began a year ago between the country’s military, chaired by Gen. Abdel-Fattah Burhan, and the notorious Rapid Support Forces, commanded by Gen. Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo marks one year today.
- Egypt – European Union, The EU promised to loan Egypt a little over $1 billion in short-term financial aid to help stabilise the country's economy.
- Niger- Niamey, Hundreds of demonstrators took part in a protest against the presence of foreign forces in Niger, including the armed forces of the United States, which has a military base in the north of the country.
- DR Congo – Beni, At least 12 people were killed and more than 50 are still missing after heavy rain caused a ravine to collapse onto a river in southwest Democratic Republic of Congo.
