1. Egypt- Cairo, the national dialogue calls a massive popular rally today in solidarity with the people of Palestine and in memoriam of 1973 battle with Israel;
2. Gabon -Libreville, Gabon's military leader General Brice Oligui Nguema has given up his salary as president and will only receive a wage as commander of the republican guard;
3. Nigeria - Lagos, The Supreme court has fixed Monday to hear separate appeals of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi against President Bola Tinubu's election victory;
4. Zimbabwe- Harare, The Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Ziyambi Ziyambi says they will adopt the SADC election observer mission report next year and "accept what we feel is relevant to us and those issues that are not relevant to us we will reject".
5. In our historical archives, it was on this day 20 October 2011 when the longest serving leader in Afrika and the Arab world Muammar al-Qaddafi was captured and killed by rebel forces near his hometown of Sirte.
