Lobby group AfriForum and Advocate Gerrie Nel have been appointed by the Botswana government to represent them in a high-profile money-laundering and fraud case, in which businesswoman Bridgette Motsepe-Radebe is implicated in. Motsepe-Radebe, the sister-in-law of President Cyril Ramaphosa and wife of Jeff Radebe, was accused by a newspaper in Botswana of an alleged plot to oust Botswana's President Mokgweetsi Masisi. Motsepe-Radebe, denied the allegations and pursued legal action against the Sunday Standard publication.

The South African Banking Risk Information Centre has released its annual crime stats for 2019 and they say they are pleased that robust mitigation strategies deployed by member banks and partners are showing results.
