The High Court in Pretoria has dismissed Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane‘s application for leave to appeal the case of the Estina dairy farm project in Vrede in the Free State. Earlier this year Mkhwebane’s report on the project was set aside and declared unlawful, unconstitutional and invalid.

Today, former leader of notorious Cape Town gang Rashied Staggie was shot and killed in Salt River, in the Western Cape. He was shot while sitting in a car outside his house in London street. In 1996, vigilante group, Pagad, shot and set alight Staggie’s twin brother, Rashaad in the same street

Today the High Court in the Eastern Cape ruled that undocumented children, including children of illegal foreigners, are entitled to receive basic education. The Centre for Child Law and Phakamisa High School in Port Elizabeth, represented by the Legal Resources Centre (LRC), set out to challenge all the regulations and laws that inhibited undocumented children from accessing basic education.
