Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi gives an update on the progress that has been made so far regarding the implementation process of the recommendations of the Health Market Inquiry into the private healthcare sector. Some of you may recall that in 2019, the inquiry recommended a number of interventions aimed at improving access to private healthcare. This after its findings among other things revealed that private healthcare was characterised by high and rising costs and over-utilisation. Also earlier today, Motsoaledi led the official launch of the national campaign to close 1.1 million HIV treatment gap by December this year.
