INNERVIEW: Over the last couple of weeks, we have been speaking to political parties on their Election Manifestos and focusing on their promises when it comes to how they will change the economic fortunes of the nation. Today, we focus on the manifesto of the Inkatha Freedom Party which launched its 13-point plan last weekend.
In their programme of action, the party aims to address unemployment by creating the 80/20 target for local companies; addressing access to land using Ingonyama Trust as a model; revamping local economic institutions such as the Small Enterprise Development Agency; revitalising Ithala Bank so that it may become a state-owned bank for poor communities and develop private-public partnerships for State-Owned Entities.
