An alleged middleman in the Gupta-linked Regiments Capital and Trillian corruption has made his first appearance at the Specialised Crimes Court in Palm Ridge, Ekurhuleni today. Fraud accused, Kubentheran Moodley's was applying for bail after his arrest at OR Tambo Airport last night. Moodley is facing charges of fraud, theft, corruption and money laundering, relating to his dealings with state owned entities and the Gupta family. It's alleged Moodley was the middle-man in the Transnet, Regiments Capital and Trillion corruption saga. Transnet is said to have paid millions of rand for consultancy services to Trillion. Last year, Moodley's assets worth 232 million rand were placed under curatorship after allegations that he illegally benefited from kickbacks. He has denied any involvement.
