The family of a 16-year-old Alexandra boy, who was reportedly stabbed to death by a 14-year-old girl during an argument, is asking for public assistance with funeral arrangements. The family says they are struggling with money to transport Mosa Vilakazi's body to Ermelo, in Mpumalanga for burial this week. Meanwhile the girl was expected to appear in the Alexandra Magistrate's Court in Johannesburg this week.

The Special Investigating Unit, SIU's investigation has revealed that the R15.3 million tender for construction of temporary residential areas in Limpopo was fraudulently obtained. The SIU say they will approach the Special Tribunal to review and set aside the contract, and recover financial losses suffered by the State. In August last year, the official opening of the housing project backfired when residents of Talana outside Tzaneen criticised the provincial government's hand-over of the 40 temporary shelters to hostel dwellers.
