Gift of the Givers has opened a doctors' accommodation at Bhisho Hospital, in the Eastern Cape. The Non-governmental organization and disaster relief group says the hospital has been losing out on interns, community service doctors and senior medical personnel, due to a lack of suitable accommodation on site.

However, the SADTU say they do not agree with the call for educators and School Management Teams to report for duty from the 25th of January, as teachers are vulnerable to the pandemic as the learners.
