There is an entire field of research dedicated to the problem of AI alignment. In this episode, Jill Nephew presents and supports the claim that there is no AI alignment problem to be solved and reveals the real alignment problem we need to be focusing on.

What is the practice or the ‘doing’ of restoring your natural intelligence?
What’s special about a practice that restores your natural intelligence?
As we’ve been putting out the message of why it’s so important to restore, enhance, and protect our natural intelligence, these are some of the questions we still need to answer.
In this episode, Jill Nephew speaks to these questions and more around inquiry as a practice and its relationship to natural intelligence.

This episode is part 3 of a series of conversations prompted by the recent Cover Story, Power Trip podcast episodes exploring the MDMA-Assisted therapy trials by MAPS and the stories of participants who went through severe negative experiences that were previously not publicly known or acknowledged. In this episode we deep dive into a series of thought experiments around the role of the therapist in psychedelic therapy and imagine into what testable mechanisms for good outcomes might look like. This episode is part 2 of a series of conversations prompted by the recent Cover Story, Power Trip podcast episodes exploring the MDMA-Assisted therapy trials by MAPS and the stories of participants who went through severe negative experiences that were previously not publicly known or acknowledged. In this episode we continue the conversation where we talk about things like the mechanisms of psychological harm, the role of psychedelics in a therapeutic process, the role of therapists or guides, and thought experiments around how psychedelics introduce new dimensions of harm and meaning, beyond existing mental health interventions. More show notes here.

This episode is the first part of a series of conversations prompted by the recent Cover Story, Power Trip podcast episodes exploring the MDMA-Assisted therapy trials by MAPS and the stories of participants who went through severe negative experiences that were previously not publicly known or acknowledged. We use this as a launch point for a conversation where we talk about things like the mechanisms of psychological harm, the role of psychedelics in a therapeutic process, the role of therapists or guides, the placebo effect and psychological diagnoses, and the danger of the enhanced placebo effect in psychological interventions. We are inviting people to join us in creating a natural intelligence community of practice together. We discuss the who, what, why, how, and when. You can learn more here: https://www.inqwire.io/community
This episode is an announcement that we’re transitioning the podcast into a new chapter, a chapter where we will be re-imaging the world through the lens of natural intelligence.
The world we live in has been built and architected while we’ve had the wrong understanding of the mind and cognition.
This leads to a real call to action to both modernize around our correct understanding, and restore what we lost. This is going to be a central theme of our next series.

In this lesson, we continue to explore design constraints on an information technology for global human coordination. We talk about the information bottleneck and how that lead to humans organizing in hierarchical structures that disseminate ungrounded models, and how to overcome that challenge. We talk about peacefully resolving conflicts and the importance of conceptual blends for model revision. And we also talk about how we have addressed many of the design challenges for architecting an information technology like this, and that the next steps are adoption and transition.

In this lesson, we explore design constraints and challenges for an information technology that could successfully facilitate global human coordination with each other and the environment such that we can navigate towards a future that is best for our long term survival and thriving. We talk about the nature of data that is required for the information technology, constraints on the architecture for the information technology, and what you'd expect to emerge from implementing this architecture in an information technology.

In this episode, we explore what it would look like to “think globally and act locally” with natural intelligence, and how technology can successfully support individuals in applying natural intelligence to solve problems in their local context in a way that’s consistent with the “global reality.” We go into existing real-world examples to explore how the design of the information technology systems is critical to determining their success or failure in addressing wicked problems.
