Going into Friday night's play the Houston Rockets are currently in 3rd place in the highly competitive Western Conference. With a record of 11-5, the Rockets look like one of the biggest surprises of this young NBA season. 

Now the rumor mill has been churning that the Rockets may trade for Jimmy Butler or Giannis, but in my opinion, I hate to see them break up the youth movement they have on the team. Plus, what they need is a veteran backup point guard.

Personally I do not believe Lebron James is really going to log of social media for good. When you look at the Los Angeles Lakers superstar Instagram and X feeds you will notice that they are full of product and sponsorship endorsements. From Louis Vuitton to Sony PlayStation James seems to have sponsorships for just about ever product category.

It's one thing for him to make a statement about negative topics on social media but it whole other thing for him to leave behind the millions and millions of sponsorship dollars.

I'm willing to bet the James will be back on social media within two weeks.

So I watched an entire Philadelphia 76ers game tonight. Outside of the NBA script writers penning more injuries than a team can be expected to overcome - the 76ers actually have a decent roster with a far amount of depth - the real issue is there head coach Nick Nurse, who was flat out out-coached tonight by the Memphis Grizzlies coaching staff.

The 76ers lost 111-117 in Memphis but as I watched the game it became clear that the problem the team is having falls at the fee of head coach Nick Nurse.

The Los Angeles are legit contenders if they trade for a big man or two. Clearly, wit Anthony Davis, LeBron James, Austin Reeves and the Rookie Dalton Knecht the team has enough legit pieces to make a deep playoff run if they make some moves before the Feb 6th 2025 trading deadline.

If JJ Redick gives Dalton Knecht enough minutes, I'm telling you he could run away with this years NBA rookie of the year award. Knecht scored 27 points in 37 minutes of playing time tonight as the Los Angeles Lakers beat the New Orleans Pelicans in the big easy 104-99.

The other night against the Memphis Grizzlies Lebron James reminded all NBA fans that he still has a lot left in the tank. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar posted a triple double in the Lakers home win. James scored 35 points, collected 12 rebounds and had 14 assists - not bad for a guy a few weeks earlier was hearing a bunch media noise that he was too old.

Sure James isn't the same player he was 5 years ago, but in typical LBJ fashion he shifted portions of his game to be more reliant on his 3-point shooting. Through the first 11 games of the season James is shooting 45.9% from the 3-point arc - not bad for a guy who is about to turn 40.

A great game by Victor Webanyama who was unreal tonight as he scored 50 points against the Washington Wizards who practice not playing any defense at all. The Spurs won the game 139-130 and are now 6-6 on the young NBA season.

Nikola Jokić “THE JOKER” CLEARLY IS MR. NBA MVP AGAIN. The Denver Nuggets are now 7-3 on the season and Jokic is averaging over 29 points a game, 13 rebounds and 11 assists a game.

The Jokers career scoring averaging is 21. He has been simply put amazing so far this season and is clearly the leading candidate to win the NBA MVP again.
