    There are plenty of beautiful college towns with beautiful campuses, but to me, none compare to Cullowee and Western, NC. Sadly, she is considered a “ one hit wonder” but what a wonder it was to hear her. I finish this episode up with Gerald Alston, who had a seventeen year career as the lead singer of the group, The Manhattans.

This episode is the first of it's kind on The NC Everything Podcast. First, I have an addition to make to my last episode on Bath and New Bern. I know you guys are ready to get away from the coast for a bit but bear with me. If you want to skip that, see the note at the top of this summary.

    Next I will move into the episode's content. Now this started with a suggestion from Rip from Smithfield about an explosion. But then I decided to look at what other accidents have occurred around the state. There were far more than I could fit into a single episode, so if you know of one that I did not mention, it was not because I didn't find it important. I go over my criteria for my choices in the show.

    The last thing I want to say is that I am not trying to make light or "cash in" on any tragedy. As I put this episode together, I learned about some upsetting events that I had never heard of, and I feel like these events and these people should not be lost to history and forgotten about.
