Dr. Popescu sat down with me to talk about the more primitive parts of our brain and how they still affect us when it comes to emotions such as anxiety, anger, and aggression, and issues like trauma, we also explored what science is now telling us about how trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACES study) affect the brain and nervous system (polyvagal theory), and the long-term negative effects of this, and how we can change all that with psychological techniques.
