The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Dr. Spike Cook.

Dr. Spike C. Cook is currently serving in a leadership position as the Principal of RM Bacon Elementary for the Millville Public School District located in the City of Millville, New Jersey. He joined RM Bacon staff in April of 2011. Since that time, he has been influential in increasing technology use with students and teachers, reorganized the Basic Skills Program, and worked on improving the climate and culture of the building.  

He began his educational career in 1999 and has worked in higher education, middle school and elementary school. Dr. Cook has served as a counselor, teacher, adjunct professor, Executive Director, vice principal, guidance director and principal. His blog “Insights Into Learning” received a nomination for the Best Administrator Blog by Edublogs. 

Dr. Cook has presented at numerous state and local conferences. In addition, he has presented at the 2012 ASCD Texas in Dallas, 2013 ASCD National Conference in Chicago, and the 2013 National Association for Elementary School Principals in Baltimore. He was the keynote speaker at the Millville Public Schools Opening Day for over 1,200 staff. Dr. Cook was one of the featured “connected educators” in the 2014 Corwin Press book, “Digital Leadership” by Eric Sheninger.

David Wolpe, author of David: The Divided Heart (Yale University Press), investigates one of the most perplexing, powerful and enigmatic figures in the Bible. Wolpe, who has been deemed by Newsweek as one of “the most influential rabbi’s in America” takes a fresh look at the man, the myth and the legend.  The myth of David slaying Goliath is well-known; Goliath of Gath challenges any man to come and fight him. David, the young and sheepish son of Jesse, shoots Goliath with his slingshot and ultimately decapitates him with a sword.  David, the underdog wins the battle, transforming himself into a hero.

William Dickerson is a writer and director whose debut feature film, "Detour," was hailed as an “underground hit” by The Village Voice, an “emotional and psychological roller-coaster ride” by The Examiner, and nothing short of “authentic” by The New York Times. Roxy Sowlaty is a Beverly Hills native that has been working in design since the age of 16 when she started a clothing line with her sister Tara called RoxTar. Upon earning her undergraduate degree from USC’s Marshall School of Business, Roxy decided that she wanted to re-focus her design interests from fashion to interiors. She proceeded to enroll at Parsons New School of Design to obtain her Master degree in Interior Design. Karen is a creator of characters and children's programs, an author, teacher, Learning 

Disabilities Specialist and Entrepreneur.  She has over forty years experience in the field of 

education.

Karen earned a B.S. Degree from Boston University in Special and Elementary Education.  

She had nine years of classroom experience both in elementary and special education before 

going on to a Master's Degree in Learning Disabilities at Rowan University.  She was awarded 

a grant from the NJ State Department of Education and created an education program for 

children with cancer at Cooper Hospital.  As the director of a new Learning Center for 

Britannica for three years, she established a successful business using the CJ program as a 

marketing incentive and as part of the academic program.  She has eighteen years 

experience as a Learning Disabilities Specialist in various positions, the last three as a 

consultant in early childhood centers.
