Nelson discuss the recent move by #donaldtrump to ban transwomen from competing in women's sports and to pass actions preventing schools and government institutions from recognizing trans athlete and transgender people.

It’s elementary, women who were once men, should not play in Women Sports. Such women still possess or have access to their masculinity that gives them an advantage over other women born as women. Therefore, it is unfair for transwomen to compete in women’s sport until the technology is available to drain them of their masculine prowess and that can perform checks when they fail to take their hormone meds when they are competing in events to get temporary advantage.
If anything transgender women should create their own sporting category to evade any issue from performing in women’s sport and to satisfy their need to compete in sports. If the transgender women promote diversity, equity and inclusion, they should see how their participation in women’s sport is hypocritical to that cause.

Moreover, the attack on Gavin Newsom is misplaced and unfortunate, because he sides with what seems fair which goes against your wants not your needs and principles. If anything Newsome’s position coincides with diversity, equity and inclusion, because DEI is about and facilitates fairness and transgender women in women’s sport is unfair and goes against DEI and the ideals of the LGBTQIA community.
The solution is simple, create an opportunity for transgender women to play in sports where they have their own category or sporting events and they compete against each other. Now what’s wrong with that. Why not come up with something we all can agree on instead of forcing the issue?

Former President of Poland Lech Walesa wrote the following letter to Trump.
Your Excellency, Mr. President,
We watched the report of your conversation with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, with fear and distaste. We find it insulting that you expect Ukraine to show respect and gratitude for the material assistance provided by the United States in its fight against russia. Gratitude is owed to the heroic Ukrainian soldiers who shed their blood in defense of the values of the free world. They have been dying on the front lines for more than 11 years in the name of these values and the independence of their homeland, which was attacked by Putin’s russia.
We do not understand how the leader of a country that symbolizes the free world cannot recognize this.
Our alarm was also heightened by the atmosphere in the Oval Office during this conversation, which reminded us of the interrogations we endured at the hands of the Security Services and the debates in Communist courts. Prosecutors and judges, acting on behalf of the all-powerful communist political police, would explain to us that they held all the power while we held none. They demanded that we cease our activities, arguing that thousands of innocent people suffered because of us. They stripped us of our freedoms and civil rights because we refused to cooperate with the government or express gratitude for our oppression. We are shocked that President Volodymyr Zelensky was treated in the same manner.
The history of the 20th century shows that whenever the United States sought to distance itself from democratic values and its European allies, it ultimately became a threat to itself. President Woodrow Wilson understood this when he decided in 1917 that the United States must join World War I. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt understood this when, after the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941, he resolved that the war to defend America must be fought not only in the Pacific but also in Europe, in alliance with the nations under attack by the Third Reich.
We remember that without President Ronald Reagan and America’s financial commitment, the collapse of the Soviet empire would not have been possible. President Reagan recognized that millions of enslaved people suffered in Soviet russia and the countries it had subjugated, including thousands of political prisoners who paid for their defense of democratic values with their freedom. His greatness lay, among other things, in his unwavering decision to call the USSR an “Empire of Evil” and to fight it decisively. We won, and today, the statue of President Ronald Reagan stands in Warsaw, facing the U.S. Embassy.
Mr. President, material aid—military and financial—can never be equated with the blood shed in the name of Ukraine’s independence and the freedom of Europe and the entire free world. Human life is priceless; its value cannot be measured in money. Gratitude is due to those who sacrifice their blood and their freedom. This is self-evident to us, the people of Solidarity, former political prisoners of the communist regime under Soviet russia.
We call on the United States to uphold the guarantees made alongside Great Britain in the 1994 Budapest Memorandum, which established a direct obligation to defend Ukraine’s territorial integrity in exchange for its relinquishment of nuclear weapons. These guarantees are unconditional—there is no mention of treating such assistance as an economic transaction.

Nevertheless, Renaldo explore the importance of a Caribbean history that must demystify history through critical reflections. The Lecture today culminates the conversations on Afrocentric, Eurocentric and conceptualizing Caribbean Thought.

Departments of Government Secretaries are supposed to manage their staff, ensure accountability, and know what’s happening in their agencies. If we need another department—DOGE—to do this for them, then why have Secretaries at all? It’s an unnecessary layer of bureaucracy and a waste of resources.

Then there’s Elon Musk, suggesting that federal workers send daily emails just to prove they’re alive. That logic is flawed. If dead people are somehow getting paid, they can just as easily send back emails. This entire exercise makes no sense.

Each department, with its newly confirmed leadership under a new president, should run the government—without an extra, redundant oversight body. A shadow cabinet only adds to the waste, forcing taxpayers to fund DOGE, Elon, and the Secretaries all at once. It’s inefficient and unnecessary.

Is the Department of Government Efficiency a strategy to reinvent white supremacy and deny the American dream to black men and women?

On this episode of the The Neoliberal Round Podcast Renaldo McKenzie, Author of Neoliberalism, Creator and Host of The Neoliberal Round shares his short blog responding to this question.

Elon Musk finds it noteworthy that nearly 160,000 federal civil service workers are now millionaires. This is reported by Amuse. Shouldn’t we be celebrating that under President Joe Biden, many federal workers—who are American citizens—have achieved the American Dream? Why is this a problem for Musk, Donald Trump, and their supporters? Is the goal to strip these individuals of their wealth simply because they worked for the government? It’s worth noting that Musk himself has grown even richer under Biden’s administration.

The real issue seems to be that Black people have also attained wealth. For decades, federal employment has been one of the few reliable paths to economic stability and success for Black Americans. Now, there appears to be a deliberate effort to dismantle this pathway. The recent push to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives under the guise of “efficiency” seems less about improving government operations. It seems more about rolling back progress. By targeting DEI hires, the goal appears to be a return to an America where wealth and power are concentrated among white men.

The firing of the only woman general and the second Black general in the name of “efficiency” raises serious concerns. Is this truly about performance, or is it a strategic move to reinforce systemic inequalities? If these trends continue, they will not only harm Black Americans but also women, people of color, and anyone who does not fit the narrow mold of privilege. This is not just about economics—it is about the very fabric of the American Dream.

Do you still support Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) after the NNSA debacle?

Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have touted their restructuring efforts as rooted in "competence and care." Yet, their recent handling of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) layoffs reveals a stark contradiction—one of incompetence and recklessness.

According to reports from the Los Angeles Times and MSN, the Trump administration, under DOGE’s guidance, mistakenly fired a large portion of NNSA employees last Thursday, only to scramble the following day to rehire them after realizing their error. While most workers were reinstated, 28 employees were permanently dismissed. This misstep, labeled a mere "mistake" by the White House, raises serious concerns about the competence of those overseeing these cuts (MSN).

Daryl Kimball, executive director of the Arms Control Association, criticized DOGE's apparent lack of understanding:

“The DOGE people are coming in with absolutely no knowledge of what these departments are responsible for,” Kimball said. “They don’t seem to realize that it’s actually the Department of Nuclear Weapons more than it is the Department of Energy” (Los Angeles Times via MSN).

CNN further reported that the layoffs affected NNSA staff responsible for overseeing nuclear weapon production and ensuring compliance with safety standards. One insider revealed that the firings happened because “no one has taken any time to understand what we do and the importance of our work to the nation’s national security” (CNN).

The backlash was swift. Journalist Molly Jong-Fast sarcastically remarked:

“Accidentally firing the people in charge of the nukes! Whoops!”

A self-described Army veteran went even further, calling it “embarrassing to be an American” and asserting that “Trump and Musk are making America weaker, not stronger” (MSN).

Musk has repeatedly claimed that DOGE operates with “sensitivity and care,” but the agency’s record tells a different story—one of hasty, uninformed decisions that jeopardize national security. Despite mounting evidence of incompetence, DOGE continues its aggressive cost-cutting approach, often dismissing criticism with a simple “we are human” excuse. However, national security is not an area where trial and error should be acceptable.

This latest blunder underscores the urgent need for congressional oversight. If Trump and Musk cannot ensure competence in their governance, then external checks must be put in place before more reckless decisions threaten American security.
