Corruption has significantly held back Jamaica and the Caribbean as much as the IMF or structural adjustment has placed conditionalities that have constricted the growth. Nevertheless, the problem was complex and compounded by several factors in which the locals also played a role. Joe Biden has officially withdrawn from the US Presidential race, after several days of Democratic pressure to step aside following his failed debate and concerns surrounding his health. Over the weekend, there was news circulating about the President requesting to see the #polls between #donaldtrump and #kamalaharris while recovering from #covid19 at age 81. On Saturday, there was news that donations are driving up as donors paused their giving calling for a new Democratic Candidate. On Sunday, Biden dropped out making the announcement around midday as we were getting ready to release an episode about why #biden should step aside. After the the announcement, we adjusted the show taped before a live studio audience with special call-in guest contributor, Ricardo McKenzie and Paul Booth who are supporters of the Democratic party and several others from various political or no political affiliations. It was a fierce debate between the host of the show, Renaldo McKenzie and his twin brother, Ricardo McKenzie who contended for different sides of the US political divide. The show was done in audio only with background images and breaking news still for video viewers.

The students delivered a ferocious critique of King Shawa's presentation; describing it as radical, bordering hearsay, while one student said, "At what point do you draw a line in history". Nevertheless, Professor Renaldo stated that he appreciated the opportunity to share the perspective with the class as it is an important and interesting theory to contend with as academics within the subaltern. Furthermore, Prof. McKenzie re-iterated that "#history is a result of the varieties of human natures and circumstances, (Kant). King Shawa joins the class to discuss Caribbean Music, providing a unique perspective that is #postcolonial and radical yet interesting. #kingshawa is a reggae artist originally from Trinidad who resides in Philadelphia Usa. Professor Renaldo begins the class with a brief introductory discussion about the Caribbean and introduces the Guest Speaker for the day. Then the Prof sways into the presentation inviting the speaker to share for the rest of the class. Due to the length of the lecture, we broke it up into parts 1 and 2. This is part 1. The second part concludes with the speaker's wrap-up and a debrief with the students and the Professor at the end.

Recent events at the Donald Trump rally have raised serious concerns. Eyewitnesses report seeing a 20-year-old (Thomas Crooks) attempting to assassinate Donald Trump by climbing a building with a rifle, an area that should have been secured. Despite alerting law enforcement, bystanders observed no immediate action. Furthermore, Secret Service agents were seen on a roof behind Trump, aiming their guns at the shooter, yet law enforcement only reacted after the shooter fired his weapon.

This delay in response prompts critical questions about potential failures and the possibility of organized involvement. Initial reports indicate the gunman did not act alone, resulting in one fatality and two injuries. The gunman was eventually killed by law enforcement. We must examine where law enforcement fell short and whether this incident was part of a larger conspiracy. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Secret Service, and other Law enforcement agencies are investigating the incident and will provide further updates on the stories circulating bout the assassination attempts.
