  • Who Has The Better DC Movie/TV Show Idea? (Clash At The Stash) - Nerds Talk Movies #64
This week on Nerds Talk Movies, we’re hosting yet another installment of Clash at the Stash.
Clash at the Stash is a ridiculously dumb collaboration series from those of us at TNS Network where two competitors would debate over two nerd culture topics and make a case on why their pick is better.
At the end of each installment, our judge determines the winner based on what was said and how entertaining the competitors were.
You can see examples of our older (written) installments here.
On this installment of Clash at the Stash, we’re doing things a little differently.
Instead of debating over established topics, we put ourselves into the hypothetical shoes of a Hollywood screenwriter who is tasked with giving a DC exec one hell of a movie or series idea.
And before we wrap up, it’s important to note that this series is just meant for entertainment purposes only. After all, we’re just a bunch of idiots talking into microphones. So, if you want to bash our ideas (respectfully), throw out some compliments, or share your own pitch, we’d love to hear from you in the comments!

  • Daredevil Season 2 Retrospective - Nerds Talk Movies #63
(This podcast episode contains MAJOR SPOILERS for Daredevil Season 2)
This week on Nerds Talk Movies, we are continuing our Daredevil Retrospective tour with the show’s second season.
Daredevil Season 2 was released on March 18th, 2016 and generally, audiences probably consider it to be the worst season in the series.
To be fair, it seems that the majority of people still really liked the season. They just believed it was weaker compared to Seasons 1 and 3. The mixed feelings from audiences really stemmed from the two major arcs during the season.
Daredevil Season 2 would kick off with The Punisher’s rampage in Hell’s Kitchen, which was a bonafide hit amongst critics and audiences. Why? Well, the most obvious reason was Jon Bernthal’s incredible performance as Frank Castle
The second half of the season focused on The Hand organization and Matt Murdock’s ex-girlfriend/vigilante, Elektra.
Although it seemed like everyone enjoyed Elodie Yung as Elektra, the general consensus is that her character was simply involved in a dull storyline with the Black Sky and The Hand.
So, what did we think of the season? Tune in to hear our thoughts!

  • Is Marvel‘s Guardians Of The Galaxy A GotY Contender? - TNSS #82
Welcome to a new episode of The Nerd Stash Show!
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is a single-player action-adventure game from Eidos Montreal and Square Enix. Announced at E3 2021, the game was immediately met with a fair amount of skepticism.
After all, we were all coming off the heels of the disappointing Marvel’s Avengers game (Another title from publisher Square Enix) and although Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy was a single-player title, it was hard to not draw comparisons between the two.
Months later, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy has officially released. But, for the most part, it has seen a warm reception so far. While it may not be a definitive metric for success, it’s honestly hilarious to look at this game’s relatively high score on Metacritic regardless if you are looking at the critic score or the user score.
So, this week on The Nerd Stash Show, we had a free-form discussion about the game, some of the pre-release buzz, and ask a crazy question. Is Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy a legit Game of the Year contender?
(Apologies for the late upload, by the way. It just took a little more time to piece all of the audio together.)

  • Daredevil Season 1 Retrospective - Nerds Talk Movies #62
Long before the days of Disney+ shows like WandaVision, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, and Loki, we had the Marvel Netflix universe.
In 2015, Netflix would release its first Marvel series, Daredevil.
Daredevil kicked off its first season as an immediate and massive success. Critics and fans alike praised Vincent D’Onofrio’s complex take on Wilson Fisk and Charlie Cox as the Man Without Fear AKA Daredevil.
Many people also loved the show’s darker tone and vicious action sequences. In particular, the notorious hallway fight.
This week on Nerds Talk Movies, we take a deep dive into Daredevil Season 1 to see what worked, what didn’t, why so many people loved the series out of the gate, and just so much more.
We do apologize because this is a pretty long episode and there is some rambling from time to time. But, it was still a fun conversation nonetheless. And don’t worry, we’ll get it tightened up for future Retrospectives.

  • Resident Evil vs. Soulsborne (Clash at the Stash) - TNSS #81
Welcome back to another episode of The Nerd Stash Show!
Clash at the Stash was an old staff collaboration series over at The Nerd Stash where two of our writers would debate over two nerd culture topics and make a case why their pick is better.
You can see examples of our older episodes here.
At the end of each installment, we would have three Judges determine the winner based on what was said and how entertaining the competitors were. These Judges were just other writers from our writing staff.
We’re bringing this series back but now, it is in podcast form.
Since we’re getting closer and closer to Halloween, we thought it would be great to kick off this version of Clash at the Stash with a horror-themed episode. The Resident Evil franchise vs. the Soulsborne series.
Both are legendary franchises that have left a huge mark on the gaming industry. Both have their own passionate fanbases. But, we have to ask one simple question. Which one is better?
Down below, you can find timestamps for each major topic down below:

  • Our Thoughts On Trailers For The Batman, The Flash, Uncharted, And More - NTM #61
Welcome back to another episode of Nerds Talk Movies!
While we had to push our Daredevil Season 1 Retrospective back a week, we still have a (hopefully) entertaining show for you today.
DC FanDome 2021 gave viewers a new look at Andy Muschietti’s The Flash and Matt Reeves’ The Batman. In this episode, we talk about our reactions to both of those trailers along with other moments from the digital event.
But, WB wasn’t the only studio to drop a high-profile trailer this week. After years of issues and even a few delays, Sony has finally dropped the first trailer for Uncharted. What do we think of Tom Holland’s Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg’s Sully so far? Tune in to hear our thoughts.

  • Why Do So Many Looter Shooter Games Have The Same Problems? - TNSS #80
Welcome back to The Nerd Stash Show!
With the recent backlash involving Marvel’s Avengers and Destiny 2, we wanted to have a larger conversation about the looter shooter genre. Why do so many games in the genre seem to fall flat? Are people starting to get tired of the genre, entirely? We (try to) tackle all those questions and more in this episode.
Also on the show, we share our reactions to EA finally revealing Battlefield 2042’s Hazard Zone, potential details on Obsidian’s Avowed, and some Back 4 Blood reviews along with our first impressions of the game.

  • Our Second Annual Video Game Developer Draft - The Nerd Stash Show
Welcome back to The Nerd Stash Show!
To kick off The Nerd Stash Show's first episode after our one-month break, we decided to hold our Second Annual Video Game Developer Fantasy Draft. Here’s the gist.
We are putting ourselves in the shoes of a brand-new major publisher. And, to make this more fun, we’re going completely unrealistic with this. As a new publisher, we will be acquiring (drafting) 10 video game dev studios. It doesn’t matter if they are under the banner of Sony, Nintendo, or Xbox. We’re just trying to put together the best squad.
    Rules -
    10 Rounds.
Each developer in our draft pool has a price tag attached to them (Like fantasy drafts with a salary cap). We don’t have every prominent video game developer but, we have a lot.
You can see our draft pool here.
We each have $200 to work with.
NOTE: We will be picking developers SOLELY based on talent and the quality of games we believe they provide. We will NOT be taking any reported internal issues at a certain developer or publisher into account. This is by far the most important rule of this draft because basically, we just want this episode to be lighthearted and fun.
Once a developer is drafted, they can't be drafted again.
Finally, even though we have 10 picks, we have to draft at least one first-party developer, one third-party developer, and one indie developer. Every studio is divided up into one of those categories on the spreadsheet so, this should be pretty easy to manage.
Although we won’t be declaring a winner at the end of the draft, we would love to hear from you. Feel free to tweet at us or chat in our Discord to tell us who you think won, if there were any draft snubs, what your ideal lineup would look like, etc.
As always, you can check out timestamps for every major topic down below.
