…Aaaaand we’re back! This time around on the Nerfherder Council – our first of 2017 – we explain what happened to our last episode. Rathtars! The Council also interviews Dark Vader of “Galactic Empire” on the eve of their US mini-tour to talk about the origins of the band, playing music in full Star Wars costume, and staying on Darth Mickey’s good side.

Also, happy anniversary to us! We reflect on some of our most and least favorite moments of our first year on the air. We also lay out our plans for a guerrilla invasion of Star Wars Celebration Orlando, because let’s face it: we’re coming whether they like it or not!

And of course, we take a few minutes to reflect on the passing of true Star Wars royalty, Carrie Fisher.

Weesa back! After a brief hiatus, the Nerfherder Council has returned with a special 2-part Rogue One extravaganza. Recorded in 2 segments – well, actually *3*, as you’ll hear – we start off before the release of Rogue One and give our take on phone sex operators while having a production meeting live on air! It’s Thanksgiving week in the United States this Thursday, and we’re taking stock of all the things we’re thankful for in a galaxy far, far away. Spoiler: we’re all over the map on this one.

“Rogue Friday” marked the official release of the Rogue One toy line, and The Nerfherder Council was live to cover it all – except the Facebook Live video had no sound and the audio was unusable due to rain and wind noise. Oops. So, back in the warm, quiet confines of Echo Base, we recount our experiences at Toys R Us on that fateful night.

Also, we delve into Disney storytelling in the George Lucas era of the Star Wars timeline: what it means for the saga, how it might differ from the style we’re used to, and what might become of all of these previously unknown characters.

Salutations, Nerfherders! We spend a lot of time defending the prequels, but this time around, we let someone else far more qualified make their case. We turn the mic on director Brad Weatherholt and producer Kyle Brodeur, creators of a new documentary titled “The Prequels Strike Back”! The film releases digitally on September 14th, with screenings in select cities to follow starting October 6th.

In this interview, Brad and Kyle explain the evolution of the film through crowdsourcing, the research that went into it, and perhaps most importantly, the ancient storytelling device at work throughout all 6 of Lucas’ Star Wars films. Join us and get edumacated!
