Walmart CEO Doug McMillon announced in a memo to company employees on September 3 that the retail giant will discontinue sales of short-barrel rifle ammunition, as well as sales of handgun ammunition, and will end handgun sales entirely in Alaska. The announcement was made as a response to two deadly shootings at Walmart stores over the summer, one in Southhaven, Mississippi, on July 30, in which a former Walmart employee killed two people, and another in El Paso, Texas, on August 3, in which a gunman shot and killed 22 people.

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (shown), known as MBS, just relieved his energy minister, Khalid al-Falih, of his duties concerning the Initial Public Offering (IPO) of his country’s primary asset, ARAMCO (officially, the Saudi Arabian Oil Company). Plans for that offering, first announced in 2018, were to raise $100 billion for the country’s sovereign wealth fund so it could invest the funds to diversify the economy away from its dependence upon oil revenues and bring it into the 21st century.

A woman was arrested on August 30, after tossing a lit Molotov cocktail into the lobby of a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) office in Oakland Park, Florida. Oakland Park is in Broward County, about four miles north of Fort Lauderdale. Fortunately, the fuse disconnected from the bottle and it didn't ignite.
