We started this podcast back in the early days of Covid alarmed, but hopeful for a future without disease and despair. Alas, many months after a vaccine was rolled out we find the world teetering on the precipice of another year of cancelled concerts and tours. It didn't have to be this way. Nonetheless, we must persevere, like two erstwhile bands who have thrived during the pandemic. Phish and The New Dad Rock's new favorite band, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.

Keith's erstwhile bandmate Darin is back to discuss his musical youth including forays deep into the heart of late 80s/early 90s raves (err, acid house) in LA, and how that set him on the path of enlightenment to find Nirvana.

Darin then shares the emotional side of music as he recounts the tension and release of Sigur Ros and an intimate Peter Murphy gig, which somehow devolves into Keith and Steve talking about their wedding playlists! 

And no podcast would be complete without a trip into the Hollywood Hills to meet Trent Reznor, Flood and Marilyn Manson. All it took were a couple of...well, you just need to tune into this very special episode of The New Dad Rock.

It was 20 years ago today that Keith and Steve saw Oysterhead at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, and almost 20 days ago that Steve saw Primus perform at the Beacon Theatre in NYC. The lead singer of Primus Les Claypool was also in a movie called Pig Hunt with Keith and Steve's good friend Trevor (spoiler alert: Trevor's character dies in the movie). Anyway, Keith & Steve try to answer the age old question, does Primus suck?
