South Jersey gets the most action today. Rain kicks in by 11 A.M. By late afternoon — right around 4 P.M. — it flips to a rain-snow mix before wrapping up this evening. Patchy fog rolls in after dark. Highs reach 42 degrees. Lows tonight settle at 27 degrees.

Friday flips the script. Sunny skies statewide. Highs in the low to mid 40s. Saturday pushes even warmer — near 50 degrees in many spots. Perfect weather to melt that seven inches of snow still sitting on your lawn.

But winter's not done yet. Sunday night an arctic front barrels through. Monday brings a chance of snow and highs only in the upper 20s to low 30s. The cold makes one last stand before spring.

Central Jersey sees snow from 6 A.M. to 11 A.M., peaking around 7 A.M. Less than half an inch expected. You start at 30 degrees. It feels like 24 degrees around 7 A.M. Take it slow on those overpasses. Highs reach 44 degrees by 3 P.M. Tonight drops to 30 degrees under partly cloudy skies.

Down in South Jersey, mixed precipitation runs from 6 A.M. to noon. Rain, snow, sleet.. The whole menu. Temperatures start at 34 degrees. Southwest winds at 10 to 15 miles an hour, gusts as high as 35 miles an hour. Highs reach 44 degrees. Tonight turns mostly clear with a low around 33 degrees.

Thursday brings another chance of rain and snow statewide. Highs in the upper 30s to low 40s.

Up north, you're waking up to wind chills that feel like 18 degrees and patchy blowing snow. The sun returns by late morning, but highs barely crack 31 before dropping fast this afternoon. Central Jersey gets mostly sunny skies and highs near freezing, though winds are still whipping at 10 to 15 miles an hour. Down south, you're the winners today — 35 degrees under mostly sunny skies. And those gusty winds finally ease up.

But tonight? Plot twist. A fast-moving clipper slides in from the west. And by 1 A.M., snow returns. North Jersey sees up to an inch, with temperatures *rising* overnight — yes, rising — from 22 degrees at 9 P.M. To 31 by sunrise. Central Jersey has a 70 percent shot of seeing flakes between 18 degrees and 6 A.M. South Jersey sits on the rain-snow line, expecting a mix after 3 A.M., with temps jumping from 22 at 7 A.M. To 35 by mid-morning.

Wind chills drop to 19 degrees — the kind that bites through your jacket. Winds gust to 45 miles an hour. Tonight, blowing snow keeps roads a mess even after the flakes stop.

Central Jersey, you're looking at 10 to 16 inches before it ends around 2 P.M. Highs reach 35 around 2 P.M., then plunge to 23 by 6 A.M. Tuesday with wind chills near 19 degrees. Gusts hit 40 this morning. Tonight, areas of blowing snow linger with gusts to 25.

Down south, this storm flexes hardest. Heavy snow through 6 P.M., with gusts to 55 miles an hour along the coast — hurricane-force. Total snow? 10 to 14 inches. You'll peak at 35 around 3 P.M., then drop to 24 by 6 A.M. Tuesday.

Here's how this unfolds. Light rain starts mid-morning, changing to all snow by 2 P.M. Statewide. Then the storm goes nuclear. Between 6 P.M. Tonight and 6 A.M. Monday, you're looking at snowfall rates of one to three inches per hour — that's faster than plows can keep up. Winds gust to 45 to 60 miles an hour. That's hurricane force.
