In Ephesians 5:1-14 Paul continues to teach us what the new life in Christ looks like. Paul wants us to see that we are not only to walk in love but also in holiness – in the light of “all that is good and right and true” as verse 9 puts it! Both love and holiness are hallmarks of authentic Christianity. Therefore ,Paul teaches us that our new life calls us to purity and thanksgiving and also keeps judgement day in view.
