Et: Maret kõndis mööda Tartu Avaliku Gümnaasiumi koridore, mil paberist kaunistused lehvisid igas suunas.
En: Maret walked through the corridors of the Tartu Avaliku Gümnaasiumi, with paper decorations fluttering in every direction.

Et: Oli selge, et uue aasta vastuvõtt oli kohe käes.
En: It was clear that the New Year's reception was imminent.

Et: Õues kattis maad õhuke lumekiht ja sees oli mõnusalt soe.
En: Outside, the ground was covered with a thin layer of snow, and inside, it was comfortably warm.

Et: Õpilased suminad ootasid peagi algavat aastavahetuspidu.
En: The chatter of students awaited the soon-to-begin New Year's Eve party.

Et: Maretil oli aga plaan.
En: However, Maret had a plan.

En: “Maybe I should play along with them,” thought Tõnu, genuinely excited.

En: And just as unexpectedly, so it happened.

En: Tõnu appeared beside Maret and Kalev, just moments before the big moment arrived, and said, “You know, your prank is quite ingenious.

En: We’re just waiting for the moment now.” A big grin of surprise appeared on Maret and Kalev’s faces.
