Fijian-American woman, Neharika Gambhir made history in 2024, becoming the Pacific Island nation's first analog astronaut.
The Pilot and cyber engineer, aged 26, is originally from Suva, Fiji and is now based in Washington DC. She joined an all-female crew of the Analog Expedition 92 - a simulated space mission on earth to help prepare for future crewed journeys.
She began her commercial astronaut training at the IIAS (International Institute of Astronautical Sciences) the first of its kind and is also doing a scientist's candidacy training at the International Institute of Administrative Sciences in Washington DC.
But her journey has not been without its challenges, including being diagnosed with a rare lung condition (Ateriovenous Malformation) in 2021 and then bells palsy in 2023 where she lost mobility and movement to her face - find out on this episode how she defied the odds, grasping hope to reach the moon.
