A Reddit user has come up with a new nifty trick to block ads on YouTube, and it simply involves the addition of a punctuation mark (.) immediately after the .com part in the URL. Interestingly, this also eliminates the need for the installation of any additional plugin or extensions on your web browser. But the question arises: Why does the trick work as claimed by a Redditor and how does making changes to a URL in the address bar block ads on YouTube?

So we have a new report coming from Sophos, which is actually a result of the survey they conducted with 5,000 IT managers across 26 countries, and according to the data, almost three-quarters of ransomware attacks result in the data being encrypted. And it was actually the case in some of the recent ransomware incidents that involved major IT companies like Cognizant, where attackers used Maze ransomware to infect and encrypt every computer in its path and exfiltrate victims data to their servers.

WhatsApp already allows users to make video calls using iOS and Android apps. And just recently, the company extended the limit of numbers of users who can connect over a video call at the same time, from 4 to 8. So, you can be a part of WhatsApp group chat where there are up to 8 members connected in real-time over a video call. But no such functionality is currently available in WhatsApp Web. And Facebook is reportedly working on the possible integration of Messenger Rooms into WhatsApp Web.

Reliance Industries Limited and Jio has announced that Vista Equity Partners will invest Rs 11,367 crore into Jio Platforms. This investment values Jio Platforms at an equity value of Rs 4.91 lakh crore and an enterprise value of Rs 5.16 lakh crore. Vista’s investment will translate into a 2.32 percent equity stake in Jio Platforms on a fully diluted basis, making Vista the largest investor in Jio Platforms, behind Reliance Industries and Facebook. Reliance Jio has announced that American private equity firm Silver Lake is investing $750 million into Jio Platforms. This investment represents a 12.5% premium to the equity valuation of the Facebook investment, which was announced a few days ago. Reliance Jio says the investment led by Silver Lake is further testament to the world-class digital platform that Jio has built, powered by Cloud and Edge Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, among other technologies.
