Let’s see… we have a plague.  We had earthquakes.   You have flooding in Michigan.  So of course… next up on the biblical hit parade.. locusts.

And the problem is epic.

42-million people are powerless to fight swarms of locusts… billions of them … devouring crops in East Africa.   It’s the worst grasshopper attack in decades.    They eat everything.  Every last kernel of corn … every grain of wheat… and they do it in numbers so strong aircraft have been forced to divert from their flight paths.

When pesticides are deployed… farmers end up with fields piled six inches high with endless bug carcasses.

But that’s when there’s pesticide.

Impoverished countries have an arsenal too small to stop the onslaught.  And these critters actually get buff… during these attacks.  They change color to yellow… their bodies get smaller and their brains grow bigger when they launch an assault.  Like an airborne army that can fly 100 miles a day.

And in places like Kenya… this is only one … of two plagues their facing.  The coronavirus… has taken a backseat.
