Nick and Josh have another stunning ramblecast. So if you can take 30 minutes of Nick wishing he could sell books like Rob Bell and spouting his bitterness. Join us.
You can help ease that bitterness by purchasing The Hopeful Skeptic from Amazon. And by following Nick and Josh @nicholasfiedler and @neuprovoker
In this interview, Josh interviews Kyle T. Kramer, author of A Time to Plant: Life Lessons in Work, Prayer and Dirt. Just in time for Good Friday and Earth Day, this podcast comes in a long line of other environmentally concerned podcasts by the Nick and Josh crew. Remember: An Oil Spill Round Table Discussion with Ben Lowe, Tom Sine and Julie Clawson, Matthew Sleeth, and Tom Sine of the Mustard Seed Associates? Kyle is not only a farmer, academic, father and eco-ascetic, but also a alumni of Emory's Youth Theological Initiative and the Candler School of Theology. For more information on this subject, listen to the first few minutes of the interview.
This week we have Cliff Shiepe talking about self publishing his new novel.
Cliff has an interesting life that mixes ministry with the entertainment industry and his first novel puts one foot in each of those spheres. What I found most interesting about Cliff's story is that he did not intend to write a novel and when it was all said and done, he did all the work and it took him ten years. I thought that was a powerful story for those of us anxious to get some thoughts on paper and get them out there.
Cliff gives some good advise for artists/writers and he talks about his novel.
In this interview Josh talks with Cartlon Mackey about his most recent project 17 Degrees Ain't Nothing. Carlton Mackey is the Assistant Director of the D. Abbott Turner Program in Ethics and Servant Leadership and the Chair of the Ethics & the Arts Initiative for the Emory University Center for Ethics. Carlton serves on the Board of Directors for the Wonderroot Community Arts Center and the Advisory Board for the Youth Theological Initiative. Carlton is also a professional photographer and local filmmaker. He was awarded a grant from the Emory University Center for Creativity and the Arts to create a photography exhibit to accompany his documentary 17 DEGREES AIN’T NOTHING, an intimate profile of 5 individuals living on the streets of Atlanta, Georgia. For this work, Carlton was awarded the first Emory College for Creativity & Arts Emory University and Healthcare Staff Creativity and the Arts Award.

In this amazing ramblecast we talk about Evolutionary Christianity, WikiLeaks, Big Tent, and Red Mountain Music. Enjoy.
This week Nick talks to Thom Stark about his new book, The Human Faces of God.
It's a good conversation that covers the topics of inspiration and inerrancy while looking at the ideas the authors of the Bible had about God.
Nick and Josh are back again with snarky intro banter and filler topics.
This week Nick talks to Reverand Dr. Amy Laura Hall about Proper 29 Project. A project aimed to raise awareness of unjust tragedies in the wars that the US is involved in.
This week Nick talks to Adam Taylor who recently wrote Mobilizing Hope, a book about justice, change, religion, and activism. I think you will enjoy this conversation.
Jim Wallis does the forward and says this about the book:"is a story of how Adam and many of his cohorts are shaping the next strategies for faith-based social change; a theology for social justice; a spirituality for young activists; a handbook for those who want to experiment with activism and search out their own vocation in the world; and a strategy manual that draws lessons from past movements for change."
