The Night Cap: Graveyard Shift Edition

All milestones that are reached matter in the podcast journey and in this episode I celebrate reaching the 20th episode of my show. I talk about why this milestone matters to me and I reflect on the journey from the start of my podcast to now. Of course I touch base on my usual topics like the UFC, some NFL talk and movies. I'm pretty proud of this accomplishment so come celebrate with me and give a listen to this milestone episode.

This special edition episode is dedicated to my brother Elijah Martinez, who passed away 10 years ago today. I wanted to honor him by doing an episode about him. Elijah battled mental illnesses up until his death. I talk about growing up with him as he battled those aforementioned mental illness, his last few years, the day of his death and the aftermath that followed. This episode means a lot to me and it took alot to be vulnerable. This is for you Elijah

It's that glorious time of the year with the football regular season just a few days away from kicking off! And with the start of the NFL season comes also the start of fantasy football! Well I love fantasy football almost to the point where I'm obsessed with it with all the ridiculous amount of leagues I do. In this episode, previous guest John comes on as we breakdown our love for fantasy football and give our thoughts on the upcoming fantasy football season. We also sprinkle in some UFC talk at the end so essentially this episode is 80% NFL/fantasy talk and 20% UFC talk. So if your a NFL fan and fantasy football player then this episode is for you! I couldn't think of a more fitting title for this episode than Back to Reality following my nonsensical but fun Episode 17 offering. In this episode I go back to one of my usual topics and that's talking about movies. Specifically I talk about my personal record breaking month of August where I saw 6 movies in a movie theater. I breakdown what movies I saw, discuss them a bit with minimal spoilers and I rank them. It's movie talk time! Let's go!

Have you ever had a friend that you consider kind of unique? Not in a special sense but in a awkward and other worldly sense. Well that's my colorful friend Tristan. I felt it was time to introduce the world to Tristan so in this episode I have him on as a guest and it went about as interesting as a expected it to go. When you are having a conversation with a good friend you tend to get really comfortable and a bit reckless. So beware there is a lot of nonsense that is talked about with plenty of explicit language and vulgarness. This is actually my first rated R type of episode but crazy things can happen when recording after midnight. So enjoy this mess of an episode and you never know you may be kind of entertained by Tristan.

I'm back again with the second special edition episode featuring my brother Chris, who is running for a city council spot in my city. With the primary election coming up in less than 10 days, I do my best to hype up Chris and he does his best to separate himself from the others running against him as well as send one of his last messages to potential voters.

Do you have a hobby that you can talk for hours about and you're so deeply invested in? Well that's how I feel about movies. This episode is dedicated to my love for movies. I talk solely about why I love movies so much and my deep connection with movies. I also talk about the movie theater experience as well as talk about my favorite movies of 2026 so far.

This latest episode is a special and different one because I recorded live from Las Vegas, Nevada during my vacation there. I've been to Vegas alot and I explain why I love Vegas so much and how Vegas is unlike any other place on Earth. I also sprinkle in some of my usual movie and UFC/ Conor McGregor talk towards the end of the episode. Enjoy my Vegas commentary!

In this episode, I push my machismo aside for a bit and get a vulnerable and talk about the struggles I've had in June. Then later in the episode I get back on track and recap some recent UFC events that have happened and go over the movies I've seen so far in the month of June. This episode was a needed journey for me as I kind of reset things in my personal life.

Besides a few takes on some recent movies I seen including my love for the backrooms as well as some thoughts on the NBA Finals, this episode is a very UFC focused episode. The UFC is the leading mixed martial arts promotion and I've been a big fan for a long time. I dedicated this episode to the UFC because they have a big card this Sunday and it takes place at the White House so I wanted to preview it and give my predictions.
