In today's podcast, I share an example of how my own needs for affirmation almost cancelled out the bigger, more relevant information that I needed to share. From there, the remainder of the podcast is dedicated to explaining why a special song has much to offer all of us. In the end, there was so much "Fruit" embedded within this song, that we ultimately decided to have only one segment for this podcast.
Within this episode we explore the choices that we are left to make after we've been on the receiving end of unfavorable, biased or mean spirited actions. In the first segment, we explore these scenarios from within the contexts of spiritual beliefs, politics & sports. In the second segment we go inside "the war room" where civility and compromises are often dismissed, so that we can learn to appreciate their value. In the final segment, we process the call for husbands and wives to submit to God first, so that we can give our best to each other.
In every podcast we focus on the importance of communicating respectfully. Today, we focused on some commonly held assumptions & the subsequent attitudes that they inspire. In the first segment we explored what taking the Lord's name in vain could look like. In the second segment we addressed the autism spectrum from a very personal perspective. In the third segment, we took a look at the impact of the just world bias.
The Nine Points podcast is dedicated to assessing and promoting healthy communication patterns within our families and closest social relationships. We do this by applying "The Fruit of the Spirit" (found in Galatians 5: 22-23) as much as possible to current issues. In this particular episode we discuss the dangers of mental fatigue, apply the Fruit of the Spirit to offset it & Generation Z processes the Parable of the Prodigal Son.
Hello listeners. My name is Tim, but my friends call me BH. Thank you for considering this initial attempt to share what God put on my heart in the form of a podcast. This episode is a sample segment which describes what the Nine Points Podcast is all about, the structure of how future podcasts will be designed, as well as explaining where the name "Nine Points Podcast" came from.
The topic discussed in this sample podcast is "Church Folks." In it I describe some of the criticisms and challenges that people face when we try to leave our old behaviors behind and invite others to join us on our new walk towards righteous living. I hope that you will enjoy this and come back for additional episodes in the future.
