The Nintendo Drive

At around 8AM EST on January 16th, Nintendo gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby Switch 2 reveal trailer. It was around two minutes and twenty-one seconds in length and it revealed basically nothing about the console that wasn't already leaked months prior. That is... except for a new Mario Kart! That's pretty exciting!

Because realistically - who else are we gonna blame if Nintendo doesn't show up at The Game Awards 2024? We wouldn't *dream* of it being someone who is currently employed there.

Sometimes I wonder why they kept making video games after the entire medium peaked on June 16th, 2022 with the release of Neon White. There's nothing in this world as good as the feeling of discovering micro-optimizations to shave nanoseconds of time off your friend's personal best until two in the morning. The perfect marriage of your mind and the video game; the graceful ballet of bullets an extension of your thoughts. The constant pursuit of self-improvement - an addicting rush of adrenaline to senses within your synapses that are normally dulled and unused. Anyways, just play Neon White.

Sean and Seth are here to hold down the fort this Thanksgiving. And if we're being honest, I don't know how much thematic sense will enter into the proceedings. We're just gonna hang out and talk about video games. I can be thankful for that for a long, long time.

LISTEN... sometimes, things slip through the cracks. When you have so many games to play, inevitably there are going to be those games that are left behind. So which games did we miss - that have been left to languish in our ever-growing backlogs - that we want to *actually* go back to?

There's no shortage of games we could (and probably should!) be playing as we head into the end of 2024. But here lately... there's just been something comforting about opening up some booster packs of digital Pokémon cards. And what's wrong with that, after all?
