The Nintendo Drive

We're just days away from a brand new Pokémon game and... are we excited? Are we ready to be hurt again? Do we trust the (actually pretty positive!) reviews? Are we part of the problem? Does none of this matter because we're probably just gonna buy it regardless?

Nintendo released a mysterious animated short called "Close To You" earlier today... and nobody knows what the hell this could be about. So let's do what we do best here on the Internet: wildly speculate and blow this completely out of proportion.

I'm not quite sure what happened this week. Was there collusion among the Carpool Gaming community? Some sort of shadow council that held court, with us talking about food on the podcast as its dark purpose? Either way, the joke's on you: we're happy to. So let's have some food with our video games.

Now that we have a general idea of what the rest of Nintendo's 2025 looks like... how excited are we about it? Let's record ourselves talking about that topic into microphones together on the Internet in order to create Content™!

We all woke up far too early for another big Nintendo Direct last Friday morning and, of course, we've gotta talk about it. We're a Nintendo podcast after all, at least sometimes. We should probably talk about it. There was a Pokemon farming sim and Virtual Boy a bunch of Mario Galaxy stuff, it was goin buck wild over there.

Seth's been playing a whole bunch of Silksong and he's here to tell you if he thinks it's overly difficult garbage or not! Also, I'm sure we're gonna talk about a whole bunch of stuff. I heard Amanda somehow found a golfing RPG.

Lockleth's back from her break this week - and honestly, unhinged Nintendo ships is probably the perfect topic for her return.

With the recent announcement of a new LEGO Batman game (and Amanda playing her first LEGO game recently), we thought it'd be fun to talk about the franchises that need their very own LEGO game treatment! We wanna play more of these on Nintendo Switch 2!

I'm not really sure what that means either. Anyways, there was a Kirby Air Riders Direct and it gave us our first real look at the game! For one of us, this is basically a dream game... I wonder if you'll be able to guess who.

UFO 50 shadowdropped on Switch during the Indie World showcase last week and it's all Seth has been able to think about ever since. Unfortunately for you all, Seth is who writes these descriptions and makes the thumbnail for YouTube. So that's how we've arrived here.
