In this episode, we discuss our latest reads and some (DEF not all) of the lore behind Halloween! As always we are thinking of this as writers but this is a bit more lighthearted and focused really more on what the lore is. Lots of connections to our fantasy reads of course but it was also just fun to hear about Halloween and the festivals that shaped the holiday as we know it today!

This is the first episode as part of our Spooky Month Series and it was so fun! And also why don’t more people talk about Mulder as TOP TIER BOOK BOYFRIEND MATERIAL?? I don’t care that it’s a show it’s the EXACT same feeling lollllll

In this episode, we discuss why some people get more attached to books/characters than others! We are of course lay people and are really just chatting about our own experiences/reading an article and are in no way experts lol! But it was a fun convo because we were curious about why Sam and her husband have such different reactions to things as they are reading through Zodiac Academy together. The article we read discusses how different attachment styles can affect how parasocial you might be with characters/books so we read/discussed that and then took an attachment style quiz! A different but still super fun week!

The article:

The quiz:

If you took the quiz, was it accurate to how bad your book hangovers are? Tell us what you think in the comments!

In this episode, we discuss our current story projects since we have both recently pushed through and wrote some more! We’ve been super busy lately so finally getting back to our characters feels good! Plus the time away might have helped us get some distance because we had lots of larger progressions and plotchanging conversations (honestly kind of a breakthrough in some ways!).

In this episode, we discuss our progress in our stories after we wrote together just before recording the pod! We are working through figuring out how to know when to cut things, when to move the start of the story, etc. And we are a little tired but we got something down and had a bunch of fun yapping about it so check it out!

Where are you at in your own WIP?
