In today’s episode we are going to share some expert interviews and information from the ground level at NASA.  We meet retired electrical engineer Lamar Russell who shares what it was like working as an engineer during the Apollo missions, how to make risk assessments, lunar orbits, and the top virtues it takes to work for NASA.  We also hear from Regina Spellman, senior project manager for the launch pad.  She speaks with us about the new launch pad which just got new lightning arrestors, flame deflector, flame trench, and Emergency Egress systems.  We learn how rockets at the Kennedy Space Center are protected from the frequent lighting in Florida. We learn about the vehicle assembly building and how the rockets are put together before the being launched.
