What I'm about to tell you wasn't told to me when I started out. I learned it along the way. All experienced nonprofit leaders know this too, but 'we' don't do a great job helping another with our pitch. Every nonprofit has a sales pitch to prospective donors. We know it very well with businesses under the umbrella of sales. Within the umbrella of nonprofits, we call it fundraising.
