Norm Murray speaks to artist John Sabourin about a documentary he participated in called Nahanni: River of Forgiveness, which follows a group of Dene people who made a mooseskin boat to embark on a journey down the Nahanni river.

John is an accomplished sculptor and artist whose work embraces his Dene culture, bringing stone to life through stories and legends. He began painting acrylics in 1989, but became serious about pursuing a career as an artist in 1995 after completing a Fine Arts Course with Arctic College.

Nahanni: River of Forgiveness airs Sunday, August 9 at 9 pm ET/PT on documentary Channel.
