So I have with me today Jamie Hernandez who is a health and weight loss coach who first started out wanting to help kids eat healthier but what she realised is that the moms weren't really eating that well either. She likes working with with women to get their kids to eat healthier but what she realised was that the reason it branches out into the whole family and in realising this she could help kids by helping moms. Jamie has written a book called Eat the Berries: Weight loss for Busy moms and it's a mind-body approach to weight loss. Representing the idea that as moms we give all of ourselves to our kids and we don't give to ourselves. So we really dig deep on some great healthy life topics that are very prevalent to life being parents and how it affects our kids: What kid of example are you being to your kids, EU/US comparison of food, whole foods really are and eating the 80-90% of them and minimize dairy, gluten. sugar, and processed foods to 10-20%, importance of reading and understanding what is going into our body because you are what you eat, taking back our choices and control of our brain by changing what we eat, the sneaky way to get greens into kiddos with green smoothies.
She has a free ebook for anyone that wants it with some delicious looking recipes and amazing mindset work as well.

This week I talk to Jessica
a fertility coach who likes to help women boost their fertility and getting pregnant but also enjoy the journey of trying to get pregnant instead of stressing out if it's not happening. We talk about women restricting themselves to the point where they just aren't enjoying life anymore and they become obsessed because they know they want to bring that baby into the world but they also need to still live for yourself as well. Doctors are given the platform to be the authority figure over our bodies, so she has started to teach women about their bodies and teach them about their hormones and what a reproductive cycle actually looks like. With this we need to learn about yourself become obsessed with learning about yourself but don’t become obsessed with implementing the knowledge that you just learned. We need to give ourselves some grace and when trying to conceive you really focus on having sex for pleasure rather than having sex for conceiving a child, the more you enjoy the pleasure of sex, the more you will do it and then that will increase your chances of fertility. Some topics we cover is how to move through disappointment, miscarriages, birth stories, acknowledging that emotions are visitors they're not meant to live within us, releasing the pressure and expectation of conceiving, importance of healthy movement, birth control and the side effects of the different methods. This is a very emotional topic for both of us as survivors of miscarriages so we felt that this topic needed to be addressed. The more that we talk about our miscarriages the emotional charge associated with it is taken away from it and then you realize that you are not the only one. There's almost a Sisterhood of woman who's gone through it is there to love and support us. At the end of the day women's health is really the foundation of life and if we are not healthy a new life does not begin and that is what she is working on changing. So we have real conversations then women would really know what they're walking into when they're trying to conceive and know that they're not alone in having these issues.

Today I have with me Katie Smith who is an emotional healing and relationship coach. She specializes in helping women who have deep heartbreak, loss, divorce, and that sort of thing. Were traumatized in a relationship and around the relationship she helps them to heal their emotional state their heartbreak and get in touch with themselves and build a relationship with themselves to open the doors to having a beautiful relationship with other person that's based on respect and unconditional love. We touch on how to healing addiction and getting to the root cause of addiction. Talk about how emotions will scream louder and louder for attention and then will show up in other areas of our life. One thing that can happen with addiction is that you can get stuck in certain mindsets, such as the victim mindset, but it all depends on your willingness to change because you may not have the awareness that you are even within the mindset. For you have to take responsibility for yourself then that’s when the mindset changes. How important kids in moving your healing along and that kids make you face your deepest, and darkest fear and face it and become aware that it's not real because if you entertain it, it will bring it into your life. You can be addicted to control you need to work through and be aware of it and that there's layers to it which happens if you don't feel control inside yourself. You will then exert control over everything in your life. You can start the healing process with the developing spiritual practice connecting you to your Soul or spirit and that's where your strength comes from.

This episode I sit down and talk with Shanila
Who is a breathwork facilitator. Talking all about how sounds, vibrations, and frequency can make our bodies feel better! We talk all about sound baths which is basically a sound meditation-with no water involved! It’s about singing bowls that are singing around you at the MIRACLE TONE. The Meditative experiences that you receive with this all depends on where you are in your spiritual space and how the sounds interact with you.Through this work that she has been doing has also been linked to experiments with molecular structure and brain waves. A sound bath is a quick way to get to relaxation and your meditative state. Although if you are new the first few minutes can be irritating but if you just wait it gets better because the weirdness is just your body realigning. This is so accessible and easy to get your hands on. This is a bridging of the gap between it being such a woo-woo presentation to somewhat of scientific background in it to somewhere in the middle. We talk about resolving the blockages we have been holding in our body. Sounds are then used to revibrate or recalibrate them because we may not realize we even carry them or we have just accepted it as our new normal. How breath work is incorporated in what she does is discussed with either doing an intense one involving a 3 part breath followed by a sound bath or the second which is more like a guided meditation which gets you more intuned with your body and being more mindful. The incredible thing is that breath work will give you exactly what you need out of it. We have all the tools to heal our own body.

Selling a house and still staying sane while having little kids.
How you do this and still stay sane?
So what we’re doing is keeping our routine regular like going to church, working out, trying our best to eat relatively healthy although I understand it can be difficult to stay on routine but I think it is a really big thing for you to do is stick to your routine or you will start to feel disappointed or down on yourself because you’re not doing what you were planning on doing or your not sticking to what you had initially planned. By sticking with your plan you will feel an accomplishment that is almost indescribable, it is just so much more. By sticking to your guns, continuing your workouts follow through with nutrition, carrying on with your life, doing what you need to do for yourself, and this is super important for you, otherwise you won’t be able to do want you need to do. Ie: cleaning house, realizing your limitations, and solving it. Find a way for you that will work, Keep communication with spouse open. Never assume what they think you feel. Always talk to your spouse, be open to getting outside help if it’s too much of a headache. Do what’s easy for you if it’s more of a hassle.
"My name is Christine Kenney. I am a certified Health Coach with a Masters in Social Work. For about four years, I worked as a social worker and psychotherapist in a school and in a substance abuse facility. I loved what I was doing but as you may know social work is a very stressful job. Working in these challenging areas started to really take a toll on my emotional and physical wellbeing. Although I loved being a Psychotherapist, it resulted in me losing ten pounds due to not handling my stress in an effective way. I would eat about a sleeve of cookies (Oreos were my preference) every night because I thought that would make me feel less stressed. When I moved to Nashville about a year ago, I realized that I had to make a change for the sake of my physical and emotional health. I also wanted to make a change to better myself so that I could become the best version of me. Consequently, I have become a Certified Health Coach. My passion is to help others become the best version of themselves! I have already made so many advances in my life to better manage my stress and the way I eat. I strive to show others how to do the same!"

Jennifer Whitmore is an amazing women who has overcome a lot. She talks about her story and tips and tricks to love yourself and how to overcome struggle.
"I always played sports growing up, so it was easy for me to stay active but once I got married and had a baby that all changed. As most women are aware your body changes a lot in your early adult years. You are at the tale end of coming into your adult body and your activity level goes down. You aren’t playing sports 5 days a week, you’re now working a job, and usually that means sitting a lot. Don’t even get me started on how your body changes when you get pregnant and then have a baby. I did all of this early on. So one new baby and few pounds later, I needed a gym."
