Paul declares to the believers in Ephesus that receiving an inheritance should be a constant motivation and inspiration for living for Christ now.  To the surprise of many, not all Christians will share in an inheritance in Christ’s future kingdom.

Paul informs the believers in Ephesus that if they are committed to spiritual growth, inevitably they will be confronted with the Word of God.  This truth is not given to us for information but for transformation.  Growth equals change.  If we are growing, we are changing.

Paul states that it is the church’s responsibility to manifest who God really is.  However to do this consistently and correctly, the church needs to be made up of growing, maturing believers whose focus is not only their own spiritual growth but the spiritual growth of those around them.

Paul informs the believers in Ephesus that they are gifts to the church.  However to be a gift that benefits and profits the body of Christ, certain things must continually be kept in mind by each part of the body.  These are the principles Paul shares in this passage before us.
