On Episode 34, I read The Raven, by Edgar Allan Poe. While not an obituary, The Raven, Wikipedia tells us, is a narrative poem, first published in January 1845, and is often noted for its musicality, stylized language, and supernatural atmosphere. It tells of a talking raven's mysterious visit to a distraught lover, tracing the man's slow descent into madness. In other words, a perfect piece for The Obituary Files Halloween Special.
