This week I finally bond with the bartender that was making me not want to go into my favorite bar anymore all thanks to my new Octopussy watch.  Hmmm.  Those two words are even funny in print.  Classic.  Also, spending all day at the track and dinner with the Mayor of Red Bank, NJ; A big date at the place they notoriously won't give me parmesan cheese; and as usual - a restaurant that we get kicked out of after an 8:30 reservation.  Juskow in the CITY is getting angry at the CITY!  But -- that's always hilarious.

Also, going to see Book of Mormon on Broadway again; getting into a fight with a lady with a walker working at a clothing store; a crazy ex stating she was in jail (again) AND the kid in my class who never heard of Steve Martin. Today being Passover Professor Juskow takes a lesson plan page out of my class and we discuss films released in 1982. Although I think I forgot 1981 hilariously (we'll get back to it) there certainly is a treasure trove to discuss. We'll discuss the hilarious Morgan Fairchild vehicle, The Seduction; the awful sequel to Grease, Grease 2 and the classics, or at least the Juskow classics, Al Pacino in Author, Author and the Mel Brooks inspired, My Favorite Year. Professor Juskow's 1982 in Film

This week we go down to the West Village to see David Yazbek's new musical, "Dead Outlaw", which is terrific.  We also run into my old managing partner from the firm at the play where I have become the Voldemort of the place (as in he who must not be named) - so EPIC.  Also, as I go to see my friends Julian and Paul play piano also in the West Village and Julian doesn't finish his songs - it incenses me - so obviously - that's always a good podcast.  And top it off with my lectures on the films of 1988 and 89, which include the greats, Sex, Lies & Videotape and Crimes & Misdemeanors.  Interesting -- 2 films that have ampersands in them. Dead Outlaw

That's right.  One hundred years or so ago there were riots right here in River City (downtown Manhattan) over who's theatre had the better production of Hamlet.  I only bring it up because it's my new course lecture and well -- it's incredibly hilarious and may make you feel a little better about the world today because nothing seems to change so. . . . -- Also this week, Artist Drew Friedman documentary; Gilbert Gottfried's daughter inventing the waffle sandwich; the Comedy Cellar Holiday Party (yes in April) 

The Dueling Hamlet Riots of 1849

Three Presidents past and present came into town this week and I know the first thing you thought of was "how would this affect Dave Juskow of Juskow in the City?" - and I appreciate that.  Well, it was a nightmare, as usual.  I thought they all hated New York City (except for Clinton), why do they bother me?  Anyhoo, that, our friend Marcie coming to town; the Nickelodeon documentary and that poor Drake Bell and, again, "how does this affect Dave Juskow"; comedian Todd Barry's birthday party and how "Don't You Forget About Me" came to be sung by the band "Simple Minds".
