The directing of Christopher Nolan is excellent. He respects the audience's intelligence and never simplifies the subject, as is to be anticipated. It's possible that a different director started the story before the Trojan War and followed the events in chronological order. However, Nolan uses his unique storytelling technique to captivate the audience. The current happenings in Ithaca and Odysseus' treacherous voyage home are the two tracks that make up the movie. The later track genuinely engrosses the audience for the most of the second and the first half.
