Greg Holder joins Michelle to discuss a new free, online training called Foundations: Building the Safest Dental Visit to help raise awareness of the importance of infection prevention and control year-round. The CDC is partnering with OSAP to increase the reach and utility of this training, and rolling it out during Dental Infection Control Awareness Month is an added bonus! OSAP will provide free dental continuing education credit hours for learners who complete the Foundations training.
Greg Holder serves as a Policy Analyst at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion in the Division of Oral Health, where he analyzes state and local legislation and other health policy to determine its impact on oral health, the use of infection prevention guidelines, and responds to public inquiries.

DICAM (Dental Infection Control Awareness Month) kicked off September 1. OSAP spearheads this annual, month-long campaign that shares the latest infection control guidance and regulations. In this episode, Michelle is joined by Michelle Strange, RDH, an infection control consultant and social media influencer, and Nichol Schreiber, Senior Manager of Clinical Relations for Young Innovations, to discuss how dental professionals can use DICAM to build patient trust in infection control with the renewed interest in patient safety during COVID-19. The 2021 DICAM campaign gives everyone a unique opportunity to showcase their infection control knowledge.
