Data has a baby girl! And ReEngage returns with another special guest star, video game enthusiast Shams Jorjani to wax poetic on fatherhood and the "memnoir" by Brent Spiner heavily referencing this episode. Admiral Asshole wants to take Data's daughter Lal away from him after the crew has grown to love her. (Perhaps in Riker's case, a little too much.) Guinan has a significant part to play, as does Picard, but the episode is stolen by Spiner's Data and Hallie Todd's performance as Lal. This is a landmark episode too launching the careers of writer René Echevarria and Jonathan Frakes' as a director.
