We can more fully comprehend the grace of God in Jesus Christ to sinners when we revisit the first pages of the story in Genesis 1-2. It was there when God created Adam and entered into a covenant with him as the covenant head of all his descendants. Every person born after Adam remains under the obligations of this covenant, which cannot be met unless Christ fulfills all, and we receive the obedience of his works by faith.
Equipped with this understanding of a bi-covenantal structure to salvation history: Covenant of Works and Covenant of Grace, we can read our Bibles and find Christ on every page as he is the true and better Adam (Romans 5:12-21).
In this episode, Ryan and I were blessed to discuss the Bible with Dr. Richard Belcher. Dr. Belcher has 30 years of experience in the biblical studies classrooms of Reformed Theological Seminary and has written many books on his specialization of the Old Testament, paricularly on Ecclesiastes and the wisdom literature.
