I bring up the bronze serpent in the Old Testament - Numbers 21:5-9

And Jesus' reference to this event in John 3:15-15.

Like the hebrews being healed by gazing at the bronze serpent, so is the world healed by gazing at Christ.

Reflecting on the passion of Christ is actually the very place we find hope and meaning.

1 Thessalonians 5:15-17 and Matthew 18:19-22 are analyzed.  The importance of prayer and forgiveness are stressed.
