January 24, 2025 Episode 8: Snap Got Snapped
Starting off the podcast today, the guys break down the newest patch by Marvel Rivals, filled with bug fixes, quality of life changes to make the game smoother for both Console and PC, including a streamer mode to adjust names, and the ability to see ranks from prior seasons. Plus, Wolf learns how scary a good Loki player can be when they ult!
A new event is already coming to Marvel Rivals! Another limited time game mode comes with more rewards and another free skin! However, the crotchety Old Man has an issue with the new mode and lack of guidance on how to play it. Wolf does point out that you can still complete the event without putting too much time into the game mode.
Last, but not least, the topic of Marvel Snap is brought up. The continued down time due to Bytedance pulling its apps from app stores has affected Snap heavily. Second Dinner has been communicating the entire time and is bringing the critical services in-house to avoid something like this happening again. At the time of publication, the game is playable on Steam, cannot be downloaded on app stores, but service was restored to Marvel Snap apps that were already installed. Old Man and Wolf are both grateful for all the work Second Dinner is doing.

Season 1 of Marvel Rivals dropped today and with it, a costume filled battle pass and brand new characters; The Fantastic Four!
Old Man and the Wolf break down the abilities of the Fantastic Four: strategist Invisible Woman, duelist Mister Fantastic, vanguard The Thing, and duelist Human Torch. The married duo of Invisible Woman and Mister Fantastic debuted today, while The Thing and Human Torch arrive later on in the season.
It’s not Halloween, but the discussion turns to costumes! New costumes for heroes in the battlepass and store have been announced and they talk about their favorites and how they wish there were more!
Moving on to the other big part of the Season 1 patch, the guys talk about the balance changes introduced with Season 1 and which buffs or nerfs they are the most excited about.

December 17, 2024 Episode 5: The Reign of Arishem is Over
The latest Marvel Snap patch is here and Christmas has come early for many as it brought about a change to the largest fun killer in the game: Arishem. The way Second Dinner nerfed the card came as a suprise to both of the guys, but it was a welcome one. After discussing this major development, they give their thoughts about the rest of the patch, notably the changes to Cerebro and Elsa Bloodstone.
Serving as a bridge between both games on their mind, Old Man and Wolf talk about the Marvel Rivals characters represented as cards in Marvel Snap: Luna Snow, Peni Parker, Doom 2099, and Rocket & Groot. No it’s not a grammatical error, it’s Marvel Snap’s first ever dual hero card!
Snap is not the only game debuting something new for the first time as Rivals is throwing it’s first ever event and boy howdy it’s awesome. On December 20th, The Winter Celebration event begins, with festive styles on maps, new costumes and goodies being given out to everyone participating, including a free Jeff costume! Additionally, a brand new game mode is being added: Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival!Taking inspiration from Splatoon, two teams of Jeffs face off trying to cover the map in blue or pink snow, spraying and fighting until the end!
This week, the guys end with suggestions on how Marvel Rivals can take the next step, going from an already amazing game, to a legendary one. Oh, and is there a faction on the horizon??

December 11, 2024 Episode 4: Worth The Wait!
Marvel Rivals finally arrived and it has roared into the gaming scene! Not only did it help set a new Steam record for concurrent players but, as of writing, is currently the 2nd most played game on Steam and 2nd most watched game on Twitch! Old man and the Wolf were both part of the 10 million players that played in the first 72 hours upon release and they are loving the game.
Diving into this all Marvel Rivals episode, the guys go into detail about what characters they are enjoying so far and which ones are giving them some trouble as they discuss maps and strategies.Wolf notices some great changes made since the Closed Beta test and an impromptu Old Man rant turns into a greater discussion of team composition and if Role Queue is needed and where.
The dev team gets praise from the both of them for already addressing and patching some issues in the game and the low price of the season pass whose value far exceeds the price. It is a breath of fresh air to see problems being resolved and monetization not being so predatory.

Right off the bat, the guys briefly touch on the fallout that has accumulated after the Tyson v Paul fight on Netflix. Accusations of it being rigged and a lawsuit?? The NFL is watching…
Speaking of watching, Old Man and Wolf talk about the new trailers that have caught their eyes, starting with the Thunderbolts and who they think may be the villain, moving on to Brave New World and how much Red Hulk will be appearing in the latest installment of Captain America, and ending with the trailer for Ballerina, set in the John Wick universe. Spoilers for the last John Wick movie occur from 5:52 to 6:30.
Pivoting to card games, they vent about Marvel Snap and split on their enjoyment of Pokemon Pocket TCG one week later. While both agree it has potential, especially when the trading feature comes, only one of them is continuing to enjoy the game in its current state.
