The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery fits its name as Charlotte's oldest brewery. (Charlotte is located in Mecklenburg County, for all you geography illiterate.)

OMB also specializes in brewing classic German beers. They were inspired by local German breweries that have one beer on tap. You can literally walk into one of those and just order a beer, like they do in the movies. There's also a bit of a rivalry between towns on local beer, depending on what town you're in.
