Forever striving, we now slow the pace in order to arrive, we are here, at a place that offers us the ability to live into - actualise - our realisation, by learning the foundations of the humble essence of life.
If we visualised this essence we would see it as fractals, the energy of life that forms as sacred shapes and sounds that resonate into all else. Our footprints over the bridge means we gather, this gathering is so important in how we proceed, yet it will feel foreign to so many of us as it is a gathering of long forgotten dreams, that we know as values. It is not a question of what do we value, rather what does life value?
Watching closely with stillness and silence we observe that life holds a very delicate value system.
These values are the principles, the philosophy, the essence upon which the universal law abides for life to become. They are the philosophies that life exists on.
In relationships we often forget that values are their foundations and as life exists upon the alacrity to relate, our interconnectedness relies on values to build all things. Our creation, our thriving, and our boundaries for that to occur depend on these universal laws. Values are the place from which we draw boundaries. In one simple knowing of values and their importance to life's creation, we can see that the values we have held until now, have allowed us as humans to exceed the earth's boundaries and push her to a place of stress so great that her ailments are our ailments. Her dis-ease is our disease. In aligning now, realigning with the natural laws, universal laws, earth's values, we align again within her boundaries. We gather ourselves into her arms and holding and ever so gently we begin anew. We begin with values as the foundation and build boundaries from that space. This brings guidance to the meaning of life. To what we seek.
Values tend to stay the same - like beliefs we tend to develop them at a young age and hold them as they bring the foundation to the beliefs - so in part the importance of the bridge is disrobing old values, like shedding skin and finding grace in the faith of our dream seeds to actualise our new realisation of truth.
We don’t need to begin with questioning what our old values were that have enabled us to break her boundaries, we have done that - to arrive here through awareness and realisation - we have questioned that each time. Now we step out of them, which is why this is a gathering effect.
We scoop up the blossoms, we adorn ourselves with the fragrance and infuse our blood, bone and being with her way.
The values of the Living System are simple, it exists on the intoxication of Custodianship, Truth, Acceptance, Oneness and Love.
Why - who chose them? Please remember that these values aren’t what WE discuss or decide. This is Life speaking, saying this is the base from which I begin all things. Humankind may want to debate and decide (maybe even mansplain) what we believe them to be, but when you sit in silence and ask Life what are her values, this is her reply.
Custodianship:
Life’s aim - to care and protect, equity and harmony for all
In creating Humanity - our duty as Human form in life to care and protect. Our capacity to reason holds our ability to care at the same time as protect, both of which dominate the totality of custodianship. Not for one existence over another, but to allow balance to be found within them. The ability to steward, to shepherd, to care for, to parent, to guide with trusteeship, is all the essence of custodianship. It is deep regard. Not respect but regard, for life's continued existence and our place amongst that.
Truth:
Life’s aim - the foundational truth of oneness as the energy of eternal existence.
In creating Humanity - we were to open to and be willing to hear truth. The ability to willingly seek it at whatever the cost. Not just perspectives of truth but the foundation of truth as a whole sum of all perspectives that carry life’s truth. In this our willingness to give over to truth, to live by it, to acknowledge its need so deeply that to behold a lie, or allow one to pass us feels like the pebble in our shoe to which we would carry and endure every day.
Acceptance:
Life’s aim - to offer creation and all created in diversity for the full expression of life to be experienced.
In creating Humanity - Allowing all to show up as they are, allowance of our humanness and our capacity to err time and time again yet held by the truth and custodianship to make effort once again. To correct ourselves within that acceptance. Owning our responsibilities, our roles, our place. Acceptance is all about the space of diversity and all the various forms and expressions of life being all of who we are.
Oneness:
Life’s aim - oneness as our wholeness. Our interconnectedness. All that is for one is for all.
In creating Humanity - That our interconnectedness be as our veins and arteries through which we all nourish and nurture each other. That all that is for one is for all, that in fullness for our heart we offer fullness to another. Oneness is about unity, a coming together and our deep need for that - NEED - to collaborate and cooperate and unite. That we are not ever fully alive in isolation, that our aliveness depends on our wholeness to and with all other.
Love:
Life’s aim - the essence of creation itself as resonance and vibration a yearning for life to continue as love.
In creating Humanity - We feel and offer this as the very creation of life itself. How life began and begins over and again. All life, through the desire and yearning of itself as love.We see and experienced love through beauty, through compassion, through the extension of all the other values. Life yearns and yearns deeply to express itself and offer itself in service to its continued creation, and so grants us love, that love be the only word, concept, knowing, for such grandeur.
Of course these words are our language, it is not however the language of nature and life itself and it’s not right to define or describe them more than that. It is in observing that we come to this and in observing that we each find its truth. As long as we stay locked within a word, a definition we give it, that we delineate it to its core, we stay on the outer of realising what is indeed happening.
In many ways these words do not even come close to defining what occurs as the natural law, but it is all we have.
Better than this, is living into it. Lived truth. Feeling it. Feeling is our natural instinct and feeling is the way life responds. This way, what or how, is not to be explained but lived. It’s not for our minds but our heart and senses. Not to understand but accept. Again, be silent, be still, observe how the trees survive amongst each other, all that they give and commit to each other. How a savannah plain has way for all in its cycles. How seeds use custodianship from the air to be carried forth or a dung beetle to spread its message. See how the love is always revealed and how truth is. It is what life does.
At this point there is a huge understanding to note, we would not be here if we did not (were not) align(ed), this moment means we have paid our last respects to old values that go against life and are ready to build into new values. A moment that we gather on the bridge to work amongst nature. This is an important moment to stop and actually deeply know this, bow into it, we wouldn't be able to accept this alignment without already being ready. If we are aligned our intent is custodianship, truth, acceptance, oneness, love and at whatever level we begin we are walking to that alignment.
Placing ourselves AS that is important, as opposed to questioning if we are that.
To activate values we need to live them as action. This means we begin with the actions that will lead us to holding the values. The actions for the values are even more simple than the values themselves. Simple, yet seemingly difficult as we are far removed from them by our fear and our ‘lack’ mentality.
Let’s be really clear again - life is abundant - there is no lack or less or more in nature, there is balance and wholeness and the willingness for all to thrive.
The beauty of these values is that they act as if we are that. As we action with regard, honour, protection, service, love towards all things we are ourselves acting of these values. Love is a doing word of service, as much as a space of creation that we can break down to actions of compassion, kindness, patience, tolerance and forgiveness.
The cultivation of humanity is for the common good not for an individual goal and the values of the Living System reflect that. Again, at no time are we ever an individual. The Living System always was and is, and we are but one piece of its many creations whose roles are to live as its values so that all of life exists.
The Living System is the first instance of life and creation in its fledgling forms that have expanded and through which we have become. At its beginning our Indigenous peoples were the first custodians, the first to shepherd the way through listening and observing how she moved and shaped and flowed, the first to express the values of life to ensure our survival. All Indigenous cultures existed (and continue to exist) from the space of oneness, the wholeness of life experienced and expressed. Our desire now to return to indigenous ways, to hear indigenous voices, to listen to their teachings is a return to the original custodians of life, the first peoples who chose to hear and wander with life, to live as the values of the Living System, that is why it is their knowledge that we seek a return to because it is the way intended for life to exist. The first undistorted egoless vessels through which life was revered, they walked with her amongst her knowing that she was life and existence. Hence life itself being honoured, revered and venerated into a Godlike status to which they knelt to every day for its blessings.
It was through time and distance from our human becoming that we literally walked ourselves away further and further from this truth. Our ego developed by distance and separation, formed through our disconnection, then fashioned into its own existence delivering its own needs and desires based on its own values. This is death.
The end for life is not death as we think it, true death of life is in our separation, the moment we banish ourselves from our wholeness we place ourselves into our own transition and passing from our mother, our source, our truth.
All things lead to love, life's essence, and so do its values. That we should know love, be love, is to know life. That in suspending judgement and allowing an open heart to lead, is how we step off this bridge and begin to live again amongst life.
