In this episode of The One Thing That's Needful, I continue our series, God Does Not Change His Mind. Together we turn to Numbers 23:19 and the story of David and Goliath to see how God's promises never fail. David's victory wasn't about his strength or weapons, but about keeping his focus on the Lord.
I share how remembering God's past faithfulness helps us face today's battles with confidence, and why it's so important to fix our eyes on God instead of circumstances or signs. Facts may change, but God's Word never changes. Every battle He allows is already a fixed fight, and His promises for your life still stand.
If this episode encourages you, I invite you to subscribe, rate, review, and share it with someone who needs to be reminded that God has not changed His mind.

In this episode, I continue our powerful series titled "God Has Not Changed His Mind." We go deeper into Numbers 23:19, a foundational verse that reminds us that God is not a man that He should lie, nor the son of man that He should change His mind. If He said it, He will do it.
I share what God first shared with me—that His promises still stand, even if it's been a long time, even if you've faced trials, setbacks, or disappointments. Just like David on his way to the throne, we all go through seasons of waiting and warfare. But the enemy's attacks are meant to change your mind, not God's. The truth is, the devil knows he cannot stop God's plans for your life—so he tries to wear you down and make you give up. But I'm here to remind you: God has not changed His mind.
I also encourage you to go back and listen to previous parts of this series if you haven't already, and to take in what God is saying afresh. His Word is rich, alive, and personal for the season you're in.
Let your heart be stirred again by the truth that God is faithful. He's still moving. He's still working. And His promises are still yes and amen.
If this episode blessed you, please subscribe, rate, review, and share it with someone who needs to hear this truth.

I'm Dr. Siohvaughn Funches, and I'm honored once again to be your host and to share with you the Word that God first shared with me. In this episode, I continue in our powerful series titled "God Has Not Changed His Mind." Together, we're diving into Numbers 23:19, where we're reminded that God is not a man—He doesn't lie, and He doesn't change His mind.
This message is so personal to me because I know what it's like to receive a promise from God with joy and excitement—only to be met with waiting, discouragement, and even persecution. But I'm here to encourage you: God doesn't change His mind. What He said, He will do. He is faithful to fulfill every promise He has spoken over your life.
We talk about that often-forgotten season between the planting of God's Word and the harvest—the "waiting room," as I like to call it. If you haven't yet heard my episode "Waiting Room Wisdom," I highly recommend giving it a listen—or re-listen. The enemy often uses that in-between time to plant doubt, fear, and unbelief. But God is still working, even when we can't see it.
Key Takeaways:
God doesn't lie or change His mind: What He has spoken, He will perform (Numbers 23:19).
The enemy comes for the Word's sake: Trials and persecution often follow after a Word is received.
There's a sowing, waiting, and harvest season: Don't give up in the "waiting room."
Your destiny is secure: No matter the delay, God's promise still stands.
God is faithful to finish what He started: Stay encouraged and rooted in His Word.

In this powerful teaching, Dr. Siohvaughn Funches continues her study on the life of David, diving deep into God's perspective on righteousness and the significance of the heart. Through 1 Samuel 16 and other key scriptures, Dr. Funches reminds listeners that man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart. She encourages believers to stop judging themselves—or others—based on performance or external standards and instead receive the gift of righteousness that comes by faith in Jesus Christ.
This episode is a call to stop striving for approval through self-righteousness and to rest in the righteousness that God freely gives. Using David's story, Dr. Funches paints a compelling picture of how even when man overlooks us—sometimes even those closest to us—God still appoints and anoints according to His purpose. If God chose David, the overlooked shepherd boy, He can and has chosen you.
Key Takeaways:
God's standard is the heart: He does not judge by outward appearance (1 Samuel 16).
Self-righteousness is rejected: It's not about what you do or don't do—true righteousness is a gift received by faith in Jesus.
You are already righteous: If you believe in Jesus, you are clothed in God's own righteousness—nothing you do can add to that.
You may be overlooked by people—but not by God: Even David's own father and brothers didn't consider him, but God appointed him king.
Your calling is from God: Man may appoint leaders, but true spiritual authority and calling come from God Himself.
Don't miss God: Even without external validation, remain faithful and confident in what God has said and shown you.

Love the show? Subscribe, rate, review, and share! In today's episode, Dr. Siohvaughn Funches finishes this series of "No More Condemnation." Dr. Funches first recaps the last two episodes and she invites you to go back and hear them if you have not heard them already, as a foundation for today's message. Beginning with John 3:16–17, Dr. Funches shows that it was God's unconditional love that sent Jesus to give us everlasting life. The greatest demonstration of God's love is giving us Jesus. Dr. Funches reminds us that Adam and Eve hid from God but God came and found them. God sent the fish to swallow Jonah and hold him for three days.
For the believer — for the born again Christian, there is no more condemnation for you. Dr. Funches explains in the Word that the Law is obsolete; that condemnation comes by the Law, and we are no longer under the Law so we are no longer under condemnation. God will remember our lawless deeds no more.
As you go through the Bible, Dr. Funches invites you to find scriptures that talk about the righteous, and highlight those or mark them for reference. Please listen in.

In today's episode, Dr. Siohvaughn Funches continues this series and dives deeper into the Word, continuing on the topic of "No More Condemnation." Dr. Funches first recaps last week's message that for the New Covenant believer, there is no more condemnation. Dr. Funches reviews John 3:16–17 and ties it to the account of Adam and Eve. Dr. Funches invites the listener to review the message from last week to learn more about the sacrifice Jesus made for the remission of sins.
Dr. Funches shows in the Word of God the Law concerning leprosy and the mercy Jesus showed in cleansing the leper. Dr. Funches compares the leper asking for a blessing in the midst of breaking the Law to our own condition. She also examines through the Word the law concerning adultery and the way Jesus treated the woman caught in adultery. Dr. Funches explains that adultery represents all sin. The Lord Jesus does not condemn the born again child of God.
Please listen as Dr. Funches dives deeper into the blessings of having no more condemnation after getting to know God through His Word.

[25:41] John 8:1–12, NKJV 1 But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2 Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them. 3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, 4 they said to Him, "Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?" 6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear. 7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first." 8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, "Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?" 11 She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more." 12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."
[31:26] Psalm 36:9, NKJV 9 For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.
